ABOUT THE PROJECT
Peace Rights Foundation (PRF), in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and in coordination with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Thai Government, is implementing a 9-month project to strengthen the issuance of state-recognized identification cards to refugees living in temporary shelters along the Thailand–Myanmar border.
Following the Royal Thai Government's October 2025 decision granting refugees from Myanmar the legal right to work, a recognized ID card has become a precondition for applying for jobs and work permits, opening a bank account, registering a mobile SIM card, and accessing other essential services. This project supports the Ministry of Interior to issue ID cards to more than 74,000 refugees aged 5–70, through procurement of cards and equipment, sustained support to mobile registration units, and issuance both inside temporary shelters and at destination locations where refugees are working.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of project activities, ensuring that ID card procurement, mobile registration unit support, and card issuance proceed on schedule and in line with the approved workplan and budget. The role works closely with the Program Director and Operational Manager, and liaises directly with UNHCR, the Ministry of Interior, and district offices to keep implementation on track.
