Consultant: AI Training Facilitator


Project: TUI Academy 2 Project

Location: Phang Nga and Phuket, Thailand

Implementing Agency: Plan International Thailand

Training Course: Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Enhance Performance in the Hospitality and Service Industry

Expected Training Date: 15-16 September 2026 (Phang Nga) and 29-30 September 2026 (Phuket)

Duration: 12 hours

 

1. Background

Plan International Thailand is implementing the TUI Academy Phase 2 Project to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to successfully enter the hospitality and service industry. The project provides employability skills training, vocational training, and opportunities for workplace learning to support youth in securing sustainable employment.

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being integrated into workplaces across industries, AI literacy has become an essential competency for today's workforce. AI can support communication, information management, customer service, problem-solving, planning, and productivity when used responsibly and effectively.

To strengthen participants' workplace readiness, the project seeks to engage a qualified consultant to deliver a two-day practical AI training programme that introduces participants to AI tools and demonstrates how these technologies can be applied to improve work performance in hospitality and service occupations.

 

2. Objective

To engage a qualified facilitator to deliver a two-day practical AI training programme that enables youth participants to:

  • Understand AI concepts and responsible AI use.
  • Apply AI tools to support internship preparation.
  • Create work-related outputs using AI.
  • Improve productivity, communication, and problem-solving skills through AI applications.

 

3. Scope of Work 

The consultant shall be responsible for the following:

A. Before the Training

  • Review the project objectives, participant profile, and expected learning outcomes.
  • Coordinate with the Project Team to finalize the training agenda and methodology.
  • Develop or adapt training materials, presentations, and learning activities that are appropriate for the target participants.
  • Prepare practical exercises, workshop activities, and assessment tools aligned with the training objectives.
  • Submit the training agenda and materials to the Project Team for review prior to the training.

 

B. During the Training

Deliver a two-day interactive training programme for approximately 25 participants using participatory and learner-centred approaches. The training should cover, but not be limited to, the following areas:

  • Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its practical applications.
  • Responsible, ethical, and safe use of AI in the workplace.
  • Effective use of AI tools to improve productivity, communication, problem-solving, and work performance.
  • Practical application of AI to support tasks commonly found in hospitality and service industry occupations.
  • Hands-on activities, group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises that encourage participants to apply AI in real workplace scenarios.
  • Facilitation of participant reflection, knowledge sharing, and presentation of learning outcomes.

The consultant is encouraged to propose appropriate training methodologies, learning activities, and AI tools that best achieve the objectives of the assignment.

 

C. After the Training

  • Conduct post-training evaluation and collect participant feedback.

Submit a final training report, including a summary of activities, participant attendance, assessment results, key observations, and recommendations for future improvement.

 

4. Key Results/Deliverables

  • Finalized training materials and presentation slides before training.
  • Delivery of approximately 12 training hours over 2 days.
  • Practical workshop activities and exercises.
  • Pre- and post-training assessment.
  • Attendance record.

  • Recommendations

 

5. Duration of Assignment

The assignment will consist of 12 hours training session.

Training Date: 15-16 September 2026 (Phang Nga) and 29-30 September 2026 (Phuket)

7. Reporting Line

The Consultant will report directly to the SOYEE Programme Manager and work closely with the TUI Academy project coordinator at Plan International Thailand.

 

8. Required Qualifications and Experience

The consultant should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, Digital Innovation, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Skills, or related fields, with demonstrated experience facilitating participatory and hands-on workshops for youth or young adults.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to explain AI concepts in simple and practical ways.
  • Experience working with hospitality or vocational training programmes will be an advantage.

 

9. Ethics and Child Safeguarding

The consultant must adhere to Plan International’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct and ensure that all activities promote gender equality, inclusion, and child/youth protection.

 

10. Payment Terms

Payment will be made upon satisfactory completion of the assignment and submission of all agreed deliverables.

 

11. Confidentiality

All information, materials, and documents shared or produced during the consultancy shall remain confidential and the property of Plan International Thailand.
