About the Job
The Finance Assistant/Officer is responsible for the organization’s overall income and expenditures, as well as preparing budgets and financial reports in coordination with the relevant project managers. The role also includes ensuring effective financial control, compliance, and the proper implementation of project financial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial reports, as well as budget forecasts.
- Up-to-date checking the physical & cash book, and keep tracking all kinds of payments.
- Check that no supportive documentation or signature is missing before making the payment.
- Process payment for mini-grants and coordinate financial transactions with relevant stakeholders.
- Fill in vouchers regularly and ensure registration of vouchers in the cashbook.
- Deal with transfers and exchange of money.
- Proceed with payments for all items and services approved by the Supervisor.
- Check the Safe & Cash book at the end of each day and ensure that the balance matches the Cash book.
- Weekly and monthly cash reconciliation (Safe & bank balance are matching with Cash books)
- Monitor project cash flow and maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure that all advances are settled and clear.
- Handling the Foundation taxation process and submission to the audit firm and tax office as well as the internal auditing.
- Provide orientation on relevant internal finance forms and procedures to new employees when required.
- Initiate the archiving system in the Organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (on going or complete).
- Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of qualifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or administrative support roles.
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with financial data accurately.
- Experience supporting budgeting, financial reporting, and expense tracking processes.
- General understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and Thai non-profit financial procedures is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic financial accounting/bookkeeping software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English, or Thai and Myanmar languages.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Thai nationals and willing to work in Mae Sot, Thailand
- Candidates who hold a valid Thai 10-year ID card or Thai Pink Card will be considered an advantage.
