Consultant: Professional Grooming and Makeup Trainer for Hospitality Careers

Project: TUI Academy 2 Project

Location: Phang Nga (1 position) and Phuket (1 position), Thailand

Expected Training Date: 11 August 2026 (Phang Nga) and 21 September 2026 (Phuket)

Duration: 3 hours

1. Background

The TUI Academy 2 Project is implemented by Plan International Thailand with support from the TUI Care Foundation to improve the employability of vulnerable young women and men in Phang Nga and Phuket through vocational skills development and access to decent employment opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry.

As part of the work-readiness preparation programme, participants will receive training on Professional Grooming and Basic Makeup for Hospitality Careers. The workshop aims to equip youth with practical knowledge and skills to present themselves professionally during job interviews and in the workplace, helping them build confidence and create a positive first impression aligned with hospitality industry standards.

Plan International Thailand is seeking qualified trainers to deliver an interactive three-hour workshop for project participants in Phuket and Phang Nga.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

To deliver a three-hour Professional Grooming and Basic Makeup Workshop that equips youth participating in the TUI Academy 2 Project with practical grooming and makeup skills to enhance their confidence, professional image, and readiness for job interviews and employment in the hospitality industry.

3. Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities

• Prepare a training outline, presentation materials, and demonstration equipment prior to the workshop.
• Coordinate with the Project Coordinator regarding the training schedule, venue, participant profile, and required materials.
• Deliver a three-hour interactive workshop using demonstration and hands-on practice.
• Introduce principles of professional grooming, personal hygiene, and workplace appearance in the hospitality industry.
• Demonstrate basic makeup techniques suitable for hotel and hospitality workplaces.
• Provide practical guidance on selecting appropriate cosmetics and grooming products.
• Give individual feedback and coaching to participants during practice sessions.
• Encourage participants to build confidence and maintain a professional image.
• Comply with Plan International Thailand's Child Safeguarding Policy, Gender Equality and Inclusion Policy, and other relevant organisational policies.

4. Key Results/Deliverables

• Training outline and presentation materials are submitted prior to the workshop.
• Professional Grooming and Basic Makeup Workshop (3 hours) is successfully delivered.
• Participants receive practical demonstrations and hands-on practice.

5. Duration of Assignment

The assignment will consist of one three-hour training session.

Phang Nga (1 position) and Phuket (1 position)

7. Reporting Line

The Consultant will report directly to the SOYEE Programme Manager and work closely with the TUI Academy project coordinator at Plan International Thailand.

8. Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Cosmetology, Beauty Therapy, Fashion, Hospitality, Education, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• At least 3 years of experience as a professional makeup artist, beauty trainer, grooming trainer, or related profession.
• Experience delivering training or workshops for youth or adults.
• Knowledge of professional grooming standards in the hospitality, tourism, or service industry.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to conduct engaging hands-on training.
• Experience working with youth development projects is an advantage.

9. Ethics and Child Safeguarding

The consultant must adhere to Plan International’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct and ensure that all activities promote gender equality, inclusion, and child/youth protection.

10. Payment Terms

Payment will be made upon satisfactory completion of deliverables and submission of reports, as per the agreed schedule in the consultant’s contract.

11. Confidentiality

All information, materials, and documents shared or produced during the consultancy shall remain confidential and the property of Plan International Thailand.
