SEI Asia, a centre of Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) based in Bangkok, has a diverse team of multinational experts who integrate scientific research with participatory approaches to co-develop and share knowledge, build partnerships and influence policy for resilient development. SEI Asia’s work focuses on gender and social equity, climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, water insecurity and integrated water resources management, transitional agriculture, renewable energy and urbanization.

SEI Asia is an affiliate of Chulalongkorn University (CU), Thailand. SEI and CU have an agreement to foster innovative scientific research combined with effective policy engagement on development and environmental challenges in Asia. The key areas of collaboration are intellectual engagement for joint research applications and fund mobilization, lectures and seminars for CU students, postgraduate supervision and examination, and CU–SEI employee links.

 

About the internship

The intern will support the ICCAP team, particularly the communications team, with the knowledge management strategy for the Inclusive Climate Finance for Vulnerable Communities in Asia Pacific (ICCAP) project, helping to deliver the planned multi-platform digital engagement across the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer (Asia) and guided by the Head of Communications, the communications intern (content and digital) will support the SEI Asia Centre communications team in delivering activities set out in the regional communications work plan, particularly content development and digital engagement (website and social media management, and analytics).

 

Key tasks

  • Support the daily management of ICCAP digital outputs and social media channels through the SEI Asia platforms.
  • Support ICCAP events by compiling and preparing products for dissemination and digital communications delivery, including multimedia and short films for key ICCAP events and initiatives in 2026, as well as ICCAP internal workshops.
  • Support the ongoing appraisal and development of the ICCAP website, including documentation for website development meetings with the development and ICCAP teams, and related internal coordination.
  • Support the Asia communications team with ICCAP-related content, particularly populating and updating content-planning and social media systems.
  • Help monitor and record ICCAP digital performance, including engagement and outreach
  • Support the tracking and implementation of the ICCAP communications plan at work-package operational level.
  • Under the supervision of the communications team and ICCAP project manager, help as needed with drafting and developing social media and web content, such as infographics, videos and photo posts.
  • Provide other communications-related support as required.
  • Support communications for ICCAP project events, workshops and meetings, including taking photos, reels and short videos and publishing them on the appropriate social media channels.

 

Expected deliverables

ICCAP communications products and digital outputs, as required.

 

Supervision and support

The intern will be under the supervision of Rajesh Daniel, Head of Communications, who will provide strategic guidance and mentor the intern in daily tasks to create intentional learning opportunities.

 

Candidate profile

  • A recent graduate (within the past year), or a student enrolled in a master’s degree programme, in fields such as mass communications, graphic design, visual communications, media, digital marketing or similar subjects.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Working knowledge of multimedia communication principles, specifically graphic design, digitalization and video editing.
  • Knowledge of social media engagement is required; experience in digital data and analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing principles and practices is a plus.
  • Innovative and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds.
