The ICRC Regional Delegation in Bangkok seeks to fill the following position:
Head of Sub-Delegation, based in Chiang Mai
We are looking for a team player with a can-do attitude to join our team.
The Head of sub-delegation manages its operations in accordance with the strategies, objectives, programs and action plans defined by the delegation it reports to.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Represents the ICRC and builds acceptance from stakeholders for ICRC's role, mandate, and working modalities.
§ Participates in internal and external meetings and develops a network of stakeholders including provincial authorities, military, UN, NGOs, and other humanitarian actors.
§ Implements and follows up programmes and activities in the area of responsibility, including oversight of safety and security.
§ Gathers information regarding the general situation along the Thailand-Myanmar border including political, security, and humanitarian dimensions.
§ Manage the sub-delegation, its human and financial resources in alignment with ICRC procedures and policies.
YOUR PROFILE:
§ Master's Degree in relevant fields.
§ Excellent command (spoken and written) of English; proficiency in Thai is considered an asset.
§ Ten (10) years of professional experience with the humanitarian or government sector, prior experience working with international humanitarian is a plus.
§ Knowledge of Myanmar-Thailand border dynamics or the Myanmar crisis.
§ Solid understanding of humanitarian field operations, Thailand's public administration and strong cultural sensitivity.
§ Experienced people manager: leading multicultural and diverse teams across functions, manages direct reports including hiring, coaching performance management, sets priorities and direction for team, builds high performing teams, delivers results through others, leads teams through change, ambiguity, or organizational challenges.
