Position: Final Evaluation Consultant – Trees4All Project (Phases I & II)

About the Project

Trees4All is a community-based restoration and livelihood initiative implemented by RECOFTC with support from the Wyss Academy for Nature. The project promotes agroforestry, landscape restoration, and nature-positive enterprises through a community-based enterprise (CBE) model in Santisuk District, Nan Province. The Wyss Academy for Nature’s Hub Southeast Asia is seeking an independent consultant or evaluation team to conduct the final evaluation of the Trees4All (T4A) Project in Nan Province, Thailand.

The final evaluation will assess the performance, results, sustainability, and lessons learned from both Phase I and Phase II of the project and provide recommendations for future programming.

Scope of Work

The consultant will:

• Review project documentation, monitoring data, and relevant reports.
• Design and implement a mixed-methods evaluation approach.
• Conduct fieldwork in Nan Province, including interviews, focus group discussions, and site visits.
• Assess project effectiveness, outcomes, sustainability, and contribution to livelihoods, agroforestry adoption, and ecosystem restoration.
• Analyze enabling and constraining factors affecting implementation.
• Document lessons learned and opportunities for replication or scale-up.
• Present preliminary findings and develop final recommendations.

Deliverables

The selected consultant will be responsible for:

• Inception Report
• Document Review Briefing
• Field Visit Summary
• Preliminary Findings Presentation
• Draft Evaluation Report
• Final Evaluation Report (English, with Thai and English executive summaries)
• Final Presentation of Key Findings and Recommendations

Qualifications

The successful consultant or team should demonstrate:

• PhD or Graduate degree in environmental science, natural resource management, agriculture, development studies, economics, or related fields.
• Proven experience conducting evaluations of conservation, restoration, rural development, or livelihoods projects.
• Strong expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks and mixed-methods research.
• Experience working in Thailand and/or Southeast Asia.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing, and facilitation skills.
• Fluency in Thai and English.
• No conflict of interest with the Wyss Academy for Nature, RECOFTC, or Trees4All project partners.

Timeline

The consultancy is expected to run from July to October 2026, with fieldwork taking place in Nan Province during July–August 2026 and final deliverables submitted by October 2026.
