Consultant – Elephant Friendly Network (EFN) Project Coordinator
Location: Bangkok (Hybrid. Required 2 days per week) or Remote (Thailand-based)

The Mission
World Animal Protection Thailand is seeking a strategic leader to drive the transition of the tourism industry toward high-welfare elephant models. This is a senior consultancy role designed to formalize the Elephant Friendly Network (EFN) and lead the engagement of new venues ready for transition.
The Role
This position manages two critical workstreams:
- Network Strengthening (60%): Leading stakeholder alignment, establishing formal MOUs, and overseeing the launch of a consumer-facing website.
- Venue Transition (40%): Identifying and engaging potential elephant venues to adopt high-welfare practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Strategy: Lead the development of the EFN MOU, build member consensus on welfare principles, and strengthen network governance.
- Stakeholder Advocacy: Manage high-level industry and government relationships, facilitating annual forums and strategic roundtables.
- Digital Project Management: Oversee the planning, procurement, and vendor coordination for the new consumer-facing EFN website.
- Venue Transition: Identify potential elephant venues, build relationships with owners, and secure formal commitments to high-welfare transition plans.
- Resource Oversight: Manage project budgets and provide technical expertise to support fundraising efforts.
By the end of the contract, you will have:
- Finalized the EFN MOU and governance structure.
- Launched the consumer-facing EFN website and event for Elephant Report.
- Facilitated the Annual Strategy Forum and industry stakeholder events.
- Secured formal commitments from a new pipeline of transition venues.
- Increased measurable network engagement and industry influence.
Who we are looking for:
- Senior Leadership: 7–10 years of experience in project leadership, program management, or network coordination coordination.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven track record in building consensus across government and industry stakeholders
- Sector Expertise: Experience in tourism, wildlife conservation, or animal welfare, with an understanding of marketing and consumer engagement.
- Communication& Delivery: Fluent in English with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects independently.
Reporting & Setup:
- Direct Report: Head of Programs, Thailand.
- Collaboration: Wildlife Project Manager and cross-functional teams.
- Structure: Monthly formal check-ins and strategic meetings as needed.
