Based in Mae Sot, Thailand, the Access and Protection Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing InEd's mission by strengthening strategic partnerships and driving impactful education initiatives. This position leads coordination and advocacy efforts to improve educational access and protection.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Advocacy & Representation: Lead high-level advocacy with Thai government agencies and remove systemic barriers to education, and ensure the protection of vulnerable populations.
- Program & Work Plan Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of all access and protection work plans. Ensure activities align with organizational strategy and meet donor compliance standards.
- Protection Oversight: Expand the program’s scope beyond enrollment to include broader child protection and safeguarding frameworks, ensuring that out-of-school and at-risk children are identified and supported through integrated case management.
- Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain formal partnerships with senior public school administrators, community leaders, and NGO partners to create a cohesive network for inclusive education and protection services.
- Financial & Resource Management: Manage program budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, and financial reporting. Ensure logistical efficiency across all project sites.
- Team Leadership & Initiative: Supervise and mentor project staff. Take the lead on identifying gaps in current services and proactively design new initiatives or pilot projects to address emerging needs.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Collaborate with senior management to develop advocacy materials and policy briefs based on data-driven insights to influence national-level educational and protection policies.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the education sector, with a focus on advocacy, program management or policy engagement.
- Demonstrated management and coordination skills, including the ability to plan strategically, meet deadlines, and oversee projects effectively.
- Proven experience in liaising with government departments, with the ability to gain credibility among senior officials while constructively challenging the status.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working in cross-cultural, multicultural, or international settings.
- Strong team collaboration abilities, coupled with the capacity to work independently and take initiative.
- Project management skills (considered a strong asset), including the ability to work under pressure, adapt to dynamic environments, and deliver results.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for policy briefs, advocacy materials, and public presentations in Thai and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptable to learning new digital platforms and tools.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required for project needs.
