PMI REACH Malaria (REACH) is the global project under USAID’s President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) providing implementation support and technical assistance to countries for malaria service delivery in health facility and community settings. Working with national governments and PMI, REACH will identify efficiencies and standardize best practices to achieve project objectives. These efforts significantly contribute to PMI’s goal of reducing malaria mortality and morbidity, and efficiently and effectively moving countries forward along the malaria elimination spectrum. The three main objectives of the project include:
The Consultant will provide Services as a Financial and Operations Coordinator, to support administrative and logistics implementation of PMI REACH Malaria in Thailand. This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand, with some travel possible to western border provinces for trainings or events.
The primary responsibility for the position is administrative and logistical coordination for the project in Thailand, which will work closely with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), especially the Division of Vector-Borne Diseases (DVBD), and its subnational teams.
General Objective:
The consultant will serve as the Financial and Operations Coordinator based in Thailand and will manage and/or support finance, administrative, and logistics functions of the PMI REACH Malaria Project, helping to establish and manage project operations, financial management, and administrative systems and processes.
Specific Activities:
The consultant will conduct the following tasks:
1. Work in close coordination with the PMI REACH Malaria staff to determine logistic needs and provide administrative support for implementation. This may require travel to training and other workshops to provide logistical support.
2. Understand PATH Policies and Procedures and adhere to all donor requirements.
3. Prepare and arrange logistics for all related REACH Malaria activities, such as:
4. Following approval from PATH, a series of advances might be provided to assist with the following expenses related to PMI REACH activities:
5. In coordination with Program Manager, maintain close relationships with the DVBD and other MOPH teams, subnational health offices, and malaria technical partners
6 Provide frequent updates to and work closely with Program Manager
7. Understand Royal Thai Government policies on finance and staffing, as relevant to PMI REACH Malaria
