Organization: SEA Junction, Foundation for Southeast Asia Studies

Job Title: Graphic Designer and Communication Officer

 

SEA Junction is managed by the Foundation for Southeast Asia Studies, a Thai registered foundation, and operates asa knowledge center and public venue on Southeast Asia. Located at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre (BACC), SEA Junction aims to foster understanding and appreciation of the region in all its realities and socio-cultural dimensions –from arts and craft to human rights and development– by enhancing public access to knowledge resources and by promoting exchanges and public events (see further www.seajunction.org)

As our activities evolve, there is a need for staff who is able to work in a flexible manner in a small office with a multicultural environment and a variety of needs.

 

Working duration: Two years with the possibility of extension 

Working Days and Hours: 40 hours / 5 days/week)

Opening Days and Hours: Tuesday to Sunday (shifts 10.00 AM – 7.00 PM or 11.00 AM – 8 PM)

Reporting: The Officer will work under the supervision of the Director and in collaboration with other staff

Salary: Depends on experience at the local rate

 

The applicant will be expected to:

  • Design all material related to SEA Junction programs such as posters, booklets, exhibition catalogues, social media posts and exhibition lay-outs)
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy, including graphic elements
  • Develop content and design for website, social media and media campaigns
  • Curate with the Director exhibition(s) and public events
  • Manage all press and media relations
  • Produce monthly agenda and related products
  • Produce narrative reports and other documentation of performed activities
  • Assist in other SEA Junction functions as needed (including library, mini book and craft fair, fund raising and daily functioning of the venue)

 

The applicant should have the following skills & experience:

  • Thai nationality
  • BA in a relevant field (MA considered an asset)
  • Demonstrated work experience of at least 5 years in graphic design, communication, or any other relevant field
  • Proven graphic design skills (portfolio)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, etc, and social media platforms
  • Social media (facebook, IG, X, LinkedIn etc) proficiency including ability to create graphics and videos. Proficiency in video editing software an asset.
  • Interest and knowledge of Southeast Asia
  • English proficiency (oral and written), additional Southeast Asian language an advantage
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and work autonomously in a multi-cultural environment
