Job title: Data Officer (Database)

Location: Mae Ramat, TAK Province, SMRU/BHF Work Area.

Introduction

The Borderland Health Foundation (BHF) is a non-for-profit, non-confessional and non-political organization, registered in Thailand. The Foundation is linked to a field station of the Mahidol - Oxford University Research Unit (SMRU) which located in Tak province, Thailand. BHF is working with marginalized populations along the Thailand-Myanmar border to scale up and support the health projects, translating the results obtained by SMRU.  The main areas of work are malaria, tuberculosis and maternal & child health.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

-          Design, implement, and maintain database systems and processes.

-          Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all databases.

-          Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures.

-          Manage database access and user permissions.

-          Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and errors.

-          Develop and maintain database documentation and procedures.

-          Provide technical support and training to database users.

-          Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs and provide solutions.

-          Keep up-to-date with new database technologies and trends.

-          Assist in data migration and integration projects.

-          Generate reports and analyse data as required.

Position requirements

-          Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

-          3 years of experience in database development.

-          Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as [e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL].

-          Proficiency in SQL and database query languages.

-          Experience with database design, development, and implementation.

-          Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.

-          Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations.

-          Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-          Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-          Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

-          Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, C#, PHP.

-          Fluent in Karen, English, and Thai
