Winrock International (Winrock) is a non-profit organization that works worldwide to increase economic opportunity. The USDA Thailand Regional Agriculture Innovation Network (RAIN) is a five-year project, implemented by Winrock International, starting from 2022 to 2027, and aims to promote production and trade in three agricultural value chain crops in Thailand: rice, cassava, and durian. The project will identify agricultural practices and technologies and will select and promote up to 30 technologies and services in the value chains focusing on 5 provinces in Thailand (Chaiyaphum, Chanthaburi, Chaing Rai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima).

POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Activity Manager will monitor and support the implementation of technical activities for the USDA Thailand Regional Agriculture Innovation Network (RAIN) project.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work with RAIN Business Development Specialists (BDS) and assigned staff to develop scale plans and grants for firms promoting agricultural innovations to smallholder farmers in Thailand. Work with BDS to ensure that selected firms complete the necessary steps and forms accurately and in a timely manner.

2. Collaborate with RAIN Business Development Specialists (BDS) and assigned staff to develop and implement scale plans and grant activities. Work with BDS to monitor activities, trouble shoot issues, and to complete the deliverables listed in the scale plans.

3. Maintain a tracker on the status of all RAIN scale plans and grant activities, providing routine reports on progress and challenges.

4. Work with RAIN Business Development Specialists (BDS) and RAIN Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialists to ensure that data is routinely and accurately collected for all project performance indicators. Work with MEL to define data collection activities and then collaborate with BDS to ensure these data collection activities are completed.

5. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with private sector actors, relevant ministries, development projects, and regional bodies. As needed, represent RAIN in meetings with local government agencies and stakeholders. 

6. Directly manage technical staff and consultants; coordinate with the Operations and Finance Director for the employees' hiring, training, development, and supervision per the Winrock personnel manual.

    7.  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience (USG experience preferred).
• Strong project management and communications skills
• Supervisory skills and able to manage a team of up to 4 people
• Team player and able to make strategic plans and make decisions.
• Fluent in English and Thai Language.
