The Pestalozzi Children's Foundation (PCF) is a Swiss non-profit organisation, which works worldwide. Our vision is to create a world as a global village of peace through education. PCF seeks to enhance inclusive and equitable quality education to promote sustainable development and living peacefully together in 12 different countries in Central America, Southeast Asia, East Africa and South East Europe. To get more information about PCF, please have a look on the following website: http://www.pestalozzi.ch/en/
PCF is implementing projects through local and experienced partner organisations, which are responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the joint projects.
In Thailand, PCF is working with local partner organisations to provide support for girls and boys in rural/remote areas and emergencies contexts to improve access to quality education that is relevant to their language and culture.
1. Objective of the Training
PCF provides funding to local organisations and strengthens their staff capacities and skills supporting them in achieving the programme outcomes. To support local partner organisations, we would like to offer a training for the project management staff, project coordinators and staff members responsible for data management and project monitoring. Even though the partner organisations' staff have experience in result-based management (RBM), in developing monitoring tools and in reporting, they need further capacity strengthening in data management for monitoring and reporting. Therefore, this training shall enable participants to understand and able to create and develop data structure and survey form for collecting and analysis of data based on project context and logical frameworks.
At the end of the training, the participants will be able to:
2. Participants
Participants will be selected from PCF partner organisations in Thailand as identified per the partner organisation's capacity needs regarding digital tools for monitoring and reporting. Currently, five projects are implemented by four PCF partner organisations in Thailand, most of which are small local NGOs that do not have a specific M&E position in their project human resource structure. For project monitoring, the organisations use a monitoring tool that was developed by the project team. The project field staff, academic field staff or field coordinators typically collect data which are then analysed by project coordinators and managers with the support of the director. The collected data is currently managed in MS Excel that is also used for data analysis. However, several challenges persist in the design of meaningful and targeted data collection, data management and analysis. Therefore, the training shall improve this process for more efficient data collection, management and analysis. PCF Partners in Thailand have staff who are both Thai and English speakers. The training facilitator(s) should ensure the training accommodates both linguistic groups. We kindly request a proposed solution to address this requirement in your initial training plan. The training shall be conducted for a minimum of 15 and maximum of 25 participants.
3. Tentative Agenda
The training agenda shall be developed in close cooperation between PCF and the external service provider. The main topics will be:
The training shall be tailored to the specific needs and knowledge of the PCF partner organisations including the training language. To determine the current knowledge and exact needs of the participants, an assessment questionnaire shall be developed and circulated by the trainer upon provision of participants' contacts. The results will inform the detailed planning and agenda of the training. The training shall contain theoretical, practical and interactive parts.
A follow-up exercise for the participants shall be part of the training package, allowing them to apply their learning in their respective work; the exact format of the follow-up exercise is to be identified and agreed upon with the trainer. An initial suggestion should be included in the training proposal.
4. Dates and Place
Preferred dates for the training are between 28 April 2025 and 9 May 2025. The duration of the training should be between three to five days (excluding arrival and departure of trainer and participants). The training shall take place in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Costs for transport, accommodation and alimentation are covered by PCF for the duration of the training.
