Introduction
The Borderland Health Foundation (BHF) is a non-for-profit, non-confessional and non-political organization, registered in Thailand. The Foundation is linked to a field station of the Mahidol - Oxford University Research Unit (SMRU) which located in Tak province, Thailand. BHF is working with marginalized populations along the Thailand-Myanmar border to scale up and support the health projects, translating the results obtained by SMRU.  The main areas of work are malaria, tuberculosis and maternal & child health.

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeping Assistant to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and a passion for accuracy. You will assist with maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with organization policies and regulations.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Review the advance/claiming form and supporting documents
  • Handle routine bookkeeping tasks, such as data entry and filing, in line with standard format of description
  • Process invoices and payments in a timely manner
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile cash on hand and in the accounting records
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve advance/claiming discrepancies and supporting document
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure data security.
  • Assist in internal and external audits as required, by collecting the sampling documents
  • Support monthly and year-end closing procedures
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics AX) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
