Job Summary

The Prevention Education Coordinator  will work closely with the Global Training & Education Manager (in US office) and various local education partners to help oversee the Equip and Empower Education Program for The Exodus Road in Thailand. This role will:

  • Educate high-risk communities about the dangers of human trafficking with easily replicable, culturally relevant materials. The educational campaign will leverage digital assets, physical materials, and in-person events to engage students in learning.  

  • Develop relationships with schools in at risk communities in order to conduct in person prevention events targeting elementary and high school level audiences.  

  • Function as a primary trainer and MC during in-person events.

  • Work to further develop curriculum for greater impact. 

  • Coordinate student competitions including the development of flyers and other marketing materials as necessary.

  • Teach Elemental Business Training for survivors and at-risk communities. 

 

Direct Supervisor: Thailand Country Director

Contract Length: One-year contract 

Job Location: This position will be based in Bangkok, with monthly travel to other provinces (primarily Isaan region)

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize, arrange, and deliver educational events, both virtual and in-person within schools and community centers as planned by TER"

  • Work with the Global Training & Education Manager to ensure project implementation is on time, on target, and on budget as planned.

  • Provide the Global Training & Education Manager with up-to-date information on the affected and targeted beneficiaries.

  • Collect all data needed for reporting during and after distributions and submit accurate and detailed reports in a timely manner. 

  • Coordinate logistics of purchase requests and support purchasing & procurement procedures.

  • Ensure distributions are calm and efficient and that any disputes are avoided/ resolved.

  • Contribute to all fieldwork, participating in project management, monitoring and supporting staff and beneficiaries during the distribution periods, coordinating with focal points, Government, and non-government potential partners, including community and other field-based tasks as assigned

  • Support in all aspects of the distribution process such as PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) for the project implementation process.

  • Organize and lead debriefing sessions post event to continue refining logistics. 

  • Any other related tasks as assigned by the Global Training & Education Manager and/or Directors.

  • Flexible to travel for meetings and events with potential partner NGOs and schools. Travel is required for hosting educational events and necessary meetings to build partnerships.

  • Partner with other TER staff to advance the mission. 

  • Lead and facilitate training for elemental business training to be distributed for survivors of exploitation and members at-risk communities such as parents or children. 

 

Qualification & Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, i.e., Political Science, Public Policy, Asian Studies, International Relations, Sociology, Education, or equivalents. A master’s degree would be a plus.

  • Proven abilities to work with community, Government, and Non-government.

  • Good communication and dialog skills with customers, team, and stakeholders. English speaking proficiency is a plus.

  • Experience working with GO & NGOs and demonstrated knowledge of humanitarian standards and codes of conduct.

  • Capabilities to collaborate with key TER partners to organize meetings and to cooperate with NGOs, schools, and other government officers.

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills using muti-media.

  • Ability to keep an overview of the ongoing projects and their management including the timely narrative reporting to the Global Training & Education Manager.

  • Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, strong community outreach skills, detail-oriented, honest, flexible, and able to handle pressure well.

  • Very Good organizational skills and ability to analyze information.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage project tasks and activities within a time plan.

  • Ability to multi-task and good at problem-solving

  • Customer-focused mindset and service mentality and strong interpersonal skills

 

Experience

  • 3 years (minimum) of professional experience in project, programming, and team management. Prior experience in the support community is an asset.

  • Achievement and experience to run projects which need coordination with schools, children, or the community side would be special consideration.

  • Public speaking skills and demonstrated ability to lead a group of students through educational content. 

  • Experience working with youth, preferably around topics related to human trafficking crime such as abuse, counseling support, identity, family, healing, trauma, etc. 

 

Work location: Udon Thani, Bangkok

Working hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00 – 17:00 hrs.

Salary and Package: 23,000-28,000 BHT /month
