This position is 1 year fixed term contract based in Thailand  with another possible extension. The Oceans Project Communications Senior Specialist is assigned to fully support ocean campaign projects both national and regional-global level. The campaign projects address the issues of coastal protection, illegal fishing, and human rights in fisheries. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to national and regional communication and media strategies, including the development of key messages for Greenpeace ocean campaign projects.
  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis of media coverage relevant to  ocean’s campaign and overall missions.
  • Work closely with the regional/global  team on shaping communication strategies and crafting compelling content to engage with target audiences.
  • Coordinate and communicate media strategies with Greenpeace International, contributing to international strategy when possible.
  • Prepare materials including blogs, press kits, social media content, briefing documents, backgrounders, media pitches, PPT presentations and more.
  • Manage the creative production process with creative agencies, vendors, consultants and contractors for relevant materials, when needed.
  • Reliably deliver on project support plans in line with the country strategy, Oceans campaign strategy and engagement objectives.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the campaign and implement progress reviews and end-point evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Digital media, Journalism, or in relevant fields
  • Demonstrated a minimum of 2-3 years experience in related industry, with clear success.
  • An environmental/activist organization (work on oceans issues) is desirable.
