Project: Science book production for Upper Primary to Lower Secondary Levels

1. Background

We are seeking for a qualified service provider to handle proofreading, graphic design, coordination, and publishing of science books translated from a Korean version aimed at Upper Primary to Lower Secondary Levels. Each book will have 215 pages, and the project requires producing 500 copies per book.

2. Objective

The objective of this project is to produce high-quality, accurate, and visually engaging science books in Thai. These books are designed to serve as supplementary learning tools for students, helping them explore science beyond the classroom and gain practical knowledge about the world around them. The scope includes proofreading and editing, graphic design, publishing, and coordinating revisions to ensure the content is engaging and accessible for students.

3. Scope of Work

  3.1 Proofreading and Editing (Thai Language)

• Ensure grammatical and spelling accuracy in Thai.

• Edit for clarity, consistency, and flow in an educational context.

3.2 Graphic Design

• Layout design of 215 pages per book (2 books in total) based on the original book.

• Design of the cover and inner pages, maintaining an educational and engaging style.

• Ensure compatibility with printing specifications.

3.3 Publishing

• Quantity: 500 copies per book (total 1,000 copies).

• Printing specifications:

  • Cover: 260g

  • Inner pages: 100g

• Ensure high-quality printing and timely delivery.

3.4 Reviewing and Coordination

• Coordinate with our team on proofreading and design reviews.

• Provide final proof and approval before printing begins.

4. Deliverables

• Two fully proofread, edited, and designed science books in Thai (215 pages per book).

• Printed copies: 500 copies per book (total 1,000 copies).

• Submission of digital files of the final book for review and approval before publishing.

5. Timeline
The project is expected to be completed within 2 weeks for each key milestone as outlined below: 

• Proofreading and Editing

• Graphic Design and Review

• Publishing and Delivery of Printed Copies

The final version of the books must be completed and delivered before 13 December 2024

6. Budget and Payment Terms

The proposal should include a detailed budget breakdown for each project component (proofreading, design, publishing, and coordination). Payment will be made in installments based on the completion of agreed milestones:

• 70% upon contract signing,30% upon delivery of printed books

7. Submission Requirements

Interested bidders are required to submit the following:

• Detailed technical and financial proposal.

• Company profile and experience, including examples of similar projects (proofreading, design, and publishing of educational materials, preferably in Thai).

• Timeline and approach for completing the project.

• Contact details for inquiries or clarifications.

8. Evaluation Criteria

Bidders will be evaluated based on the following:

• Technical Capability: Experience and quality of past work, particularly in Thai educational publishing.

• Pricing: Cost-effectiveness and value for money.

• Timeline: Ability to meet project deadlines.

• Coordination: Ability to work closely with the client to incorporate feedback and revisions.
