Program:

The Enhancing Equality in Energy for Southeast Asia activity (“E4SEA Activity”) is a regional program of the U.S. Agency for international Development (USAID) being implemented by CORE International. The E4SEA Activity designs and implements interventions to enhance gender equality in the energy sector in Southeast Asia in two phases.  Phase 1 has been completed and the E4SEA Activity is embarking on its Phase 2 Activities focusing on capacity building, learning, and education which will be conducted from September 2023 to August 2026.  Implementation will occur in Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam and potentially Myanmar and Cambodia.  The work is conducted from a central office in Bangkok, Thailand. The Activity seeks a Communications Specialist to work with the Activity team to support the implementation of a scholarship and internship program. The work includes publicizing the scholarship and internship opportunities, preparing presentations on the status of the program’s implementation, designing graphics for insertion in quarterly and annual reports, and providing talking points for high-level officials.  The Communications Specialist will routinely prepare graphics and other content for social media, reports, presentations, and websites.  This is a is full-time position based in CORE’s office in Bangkok, Thailand near Central Embassy, Phloen Chit. This is an in-office, in-person, full-time position.  The Communications Specialist will be based in Bangkok, Thailand for the duration of the Activity (September 2023-August 2026).  Some travel to regional countries may be required but will be limited.

The Communications Specialist must be results oriented, with demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative problem-solving and teamwork. The Communications Specialist must have excellent writing, graphic design, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

Position Description:

CORE International is seeking a qualified Project Coordinator to support this three-year Phase 2 Activity. The Project Coordinator will provide logistical, scheduling, and general administrative support to the Activity team in Bangkok, regional representatives, and long-term and short-term technical advisors.

 

Responsibilities and Reporting Requirements:

  • Support the Activity team in all communications that support the implementation of scholarships and internships aimed at advancing opportunities for women to enter and prosper in energy sector workplaces.
  • Support the process including applications documentation, review, student and intern orientation before beginning the scholarship studies and internships, and related tasks
  • Coordinate all tasks and meetings and events related to the students’ travel, studies, and internships
  • Maintain E4SEA Activity event calendar and all related data and information
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, documents, outreach materials, and invoices
  • Support the development of briefing materials, briefing books, and information packets for the events organized under the Activity
  • Provide support in organizing one (1) annual mini conference for the Activity.
  • Provide general office support as directed by the Senior Program Manager
  • Provide general office support and records keeping including scanning and archiving, and document management and retrieval.
  • Prepare schedules for visits by high-level officials and assist with advance work for event planning including scheduling and material production.
  • Provide general office support to all Activity personnel, as needed, including logistic arrangements such as lodging, event space rental, ground transportation, site visit arrangements, and ordering of supplies.

 

Qualifications, Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in program administration and logistics support services.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and problem solving.
  • Ability to support a variety of professionals and work with the general public, private sector, public sector, NGOs and/or other stakeholders and associations.
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to other cultures and experience with international programs and donors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as other software.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Prior work experience with an NGO, international aid agency, or foundations, a plus.
  • Welcome residents with work authorization
