The Director of People & Culture (P&C) is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all P&C functions. This includes directing P&C operations to meet organizational requirements as well as the design and implementation of fit-for-purpose leading practices that enable GPSEA People to be more efficient, effective, and agile. The successful candidate will be a change management expert who understands People & Culture and how to create an environment that is best suited to achieve our goals. The successful candidate will also understand the latest developments in P&C leading practices and have the ability to influence and implement the P&C Strategic Plan.
This is a full-time permanent position based in any of the GPSEA Offices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic development & implementation of high-impact, efficient P&C tools, and systems that are aligned with global priorities and the GPSEA 3-Year Strategic Plan.
- Participate in GPSEA decision-making and strategy development with the Executive Director, Senior Management Team (SMT), and relevant working groups.
- Represent P&C in Senior Management Team and Board meetings. Provide input into global Greenpeace P&C strategies, processes & working groups.
- GPSEA’s ability to attract top talent and leading practices in Talent Acquisition.
- Organizational culture development, promotion, and implementation ensure GPSEA can achieve its visions and missions as identified in the 3YSP.
- Effective performance management system.
- Organizational Talent Development to build overall organizational Capability.
- Organizational compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Policy development, control & communication.
- Conflict management and counseling.
- Compensation and benefits administration.
- Employee safety, welfare, and health.
- Structure and role alignment to ensure organizational performance and fit for purpose; with succession planning in place.
- HR data analytics for decision-making and effective monitoring and reporting of key HR strategic programs.
- P&C Department fiscal and budgetary planning.
- Working closely with SMT, Directors, and other key leaders to foster collaboration, align P&C activities, and ensure effective coordination across different departments/functions.
- Optimizing the allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel, budget, technology, and infrastructure to support the HR needs and achieve strategic objectives.
- Continuously strive to raise Greenpeace’s profile and employer branding in the region.
- Build strategic alliances and partnerships with other NRO’s, NGOs, and organizations to facilitate the achievement of GPSEA’s P&C strategic objectives.
- Represent Greenpeace externally in support of Greenpeace’s activities, culture, and values.
- Provide input into global Greenpeace strategies, processes, and working groups as appropriate or
- Establishing performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the performance of P&C, Talent Development & Culture / JEDIS.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks/inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance the overall effectiveness of the P&C Dept.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Human Resources.
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in the senior management team at a regional level.
- Experience working with cross-cultural and multilingual teams and an understanding of cultural issues in Greenpeace SouthEast Asia operating countries.
- Ability to learn fast, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and to work well under pressure.
- Strong HR knowledge (labor law) and computer literacy.
- Conduct relevant training for staff.
