RECOFTC is working in close collaboration with the Wyss Academy for Nature to research, develop and implement innovative solutions to tackle climate change, biodiversity change, land use change and rising inequality by connecting technical, social, economic, institutional and policy innovation at the interface of nature and people.
RECOFTC invites applications for the position of Program Manager for RECOFTC-Wyss Academy project to support the planning and implementation of activities under the collaboration. The successful candidate will be based at the RECOFTC Main Office in Bangkok, Thailand. The contract duration is for 18 months.
Specific tasks and duties
The Program Manager is a member of the RECOFTC team and works under the supervision of the Regional Senior Advisor. The Program Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of activities under RECOFTC-Wyss Academy agreement, and in cultivating collaboration with partners and institutions from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds in the Southeast Asia region.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
-In close collaboration with the Regional Senior Advisor, co-develop and co-manage a portfolio of inspiring and innovative initiatives to build strong exchange, commitment and collaboration among partners
-Strengthen existing and develop new working relationships with a broad range of partners, towards meaningful engagement while raising the profile of RECOFTC and Wyss Academy in Southeast Asia
-Ensure incubation and support of knowledge and engagement activities and that these are mutually reinforced among partners
-Manage the office, staff and all respective processes, including annual budgeting, risk and compliance management, financial and technical reporting according to relevant guidelines
-Other tasks as assigned by the Regional Senior Advisor
Qualifications and experience
The Program Manager will have the following essential and desirable qualifications and experience:
-MSc or PhD degree related to the relationship of nature and people (e.g., Geography, Sustainability), or equivalent professional experience
-10 years’ experience in project and program development and management, having engaged in areas of sustainable development, nature conservation and/or natural resource management in the public, private or development sector
-Track record of program or project implementation at the interface of science, policy and practice
-Extensive network in the field of sustainable development, nature conservation and natural resource management in Southeast Asia, especially in Thailand and Laos
-Willingness to work in an international setting with frequent travels (domestic and international)
-Self-motivated, passionate and impact-driven personality with proven experience in leading and managing collaborative initiatives involving actors from different sectors (academic, public, private) with diverse cultural backgrounds and languages
-Excellent communication skills and fluency in English both spoken and written
-Prior experience working in innovation labs, incubator schemes and/or private entrepreneurship would be an asset
