Title: Generation Hope Campaign Coordinator

Consultant (Save the Children Thailand)

1. Purpose:

Save the Children Thailand has been making a positive impact in Thailand for over 40 years, dedicated to improving the lives of children. Through our various programs, we strive to provide better education, healthcare, protection from violence, economic opportunities, and emergency aid during disasters and conflicts. We are committed to advocating for children's rights at both national and global levels, working to influence governments, international institutions, the private sector, and the general public to address the concerns of children and ensure their rights are upheld and protected.

To address the pressing climate and nature crisis, which poses the most significant threat to the lives and futures of children, Save the Children is actively involved in initiatives such as the Generation Hope campaign and the Red Alert Network on climate and environmental crisis, empowering young activists to drive change.

As the Generation Hope Coordinator, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and implementation of such initiatives in Thailand, with a particular focus on building and strengthening the Red Alert Network of child and youth organizations and supporting campaigns its members will develop and implement. Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to related activities across the region. The tasks will involve engaging with children and youth in Thailand interested in environmental activism, participating in internal discussions, organizing internal and external meetings and events, supporting the design and dissemination of campaign and communication materials, assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of the campaign activities, and handling administrative responsibilities.

2. Role and Responsibilities:

Red Alert Network and Environmental Activism:

•      Support outreach and engagement with youth and children in Thailand interested in environmental activism, fostering their involvement in the Red Alert Network.

•      Act as a liaison between Save the Children and local youth and children's groups, nurturing partnerships to enhance collective efforts.

•      Collaborate with the Advocacy, Campaign, Communication and Media (ACCM) Manager to co-design and implement the Red Alert Network campaign strategy in Thailand.

•      Contribute innovative ideas and solutions in internal discussions to drive impactful climate and nature advocacy initiatives.

Campaign and Communication Support:

•      Assist in the organization of internal and external meetings and events related to the Generation Hope campaign and other climate-focused activities.

•      Contribute to the design, production, and dissemination of campaign and communication materials to raise awareness and mobilize public support.

•      Work closely with the ACCM team to ensure effective and engaging digital outreach, including social media campaigns.

Regional Coordination and Administrative Tasks:

•      Engage with regional counterparts and contribute to regional climate and nature advocacy efforts, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

•      Support the monitoring and evaluation of the campaign and its corresponding activities.

•      Fulfill administrative tasks to ensure smooth campaign operations and project management.

3. Deliverables

•    Children/youth network established with at least 100 participants

•    Children/youth camp agenda is organized.

•    Report on children/youth network activities       

4. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Studies, Communication, International Development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated passion for environmental activism and experience working with youth and children on climate and nature-related issues.
• Proficient in Thai and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience working with children and empowering them to become advocates is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with child safeguarding principles and practices is an advantage.
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative partnerships.
• Proven experience in event coordination and project management is desirable.
• Proficiency in using digital communication tools and social media platforms.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

5. Duration: This is a short-term contract position with an immediate start date and will continue until December 2023. The Generation Hope Coordinator will be expected to work 3 days or 24 hours per week.
6.  Location: The Generation Hope Coordinator will be based at the Save the Children Thailand office in Bangkok, with possible travel to other parts of Thailand for campaign-related activities and engagements.
7. Management: The Generation Hope Coordinator will be managed by ACCM Manager with support from the SPQI Director, the Climate Change and Green Job Advisor and WOW Project Coordinator.  
8.
