Job Purpose

Project: Addressing the Needs of Vulnerable Migrants within the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus (HDPN) in Thailand

Supported by IOM. Time frame 1 May – 31 Dec’23

The project aims to promote equitable and inclusive societies where migrants, mobile populations, and communities are able to access essential services and have decent work. Activities focus on assisting Myanmar nationals, the largest migrant population in Thailand who are also affected by the ongoing crisis in their home country. Mindful of the complex humanitarian and development challenges, this project will work within the HDPN and apply a rights-based and human security approach to ensure that the protection and rights of migrants are respected and that they are able to live in equitable, inclusive societies, whilst accessing essential services and have decent work.

Major Responsibilities

People management and leadership: 20%

• Support and work with related persons to implement and support MHVs to take action on project activities and achieve results

Ensure that project implementation and partnering have the following on project results.

Partnering coordination: 20%

Working with partners for implementation and advocacy to support project achievement.

Project management and implementation : 20%

• Join the team to develop a monthly action plan, including target, budget, and M&E action plan.
• Manage recording and reporting system.
• Ensure that detailed implementation plans for each of the projects in your portfolio are developed, implemented, and monitored

Follow up and support MHVs to achieve target and budget burn rate.

M&E and reporting : 20%

• Data record on M+E plate form, data management, and high-quality reporting.  

Record challenges, resolve them, and report to the project manager

Financial management : 20%

Record and clear on time and keep the standard of financial and use the budget on the action plan.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor ’s degree in a relevant discipline, for example community development, political science, social science, international relations, economics, humanities
• Two years of experience working with a national or local NGO on issues of human mobility/migration, protection, advocacy, and gender or other related fields.

• Native/Fluent Thai speaker,upper-intermediate English speaker, fluency preferred.

• Experience in the development sector, including implementation plans, monitoring & evaluation, and managing project budgets.
• Experience in people management and leading teams
• Demonstrated experience in partnering and external engagement with donors, government, NGOs, and CSOs.
• Experience working with migrant populations and understanding the challenges of migrants.
• Good attitude for working and vision for developing new proposals, creative, positive thinking, and skill of data analysis.
• Communication skills with people in different contexts.
• Ability to solve problems and crises in fields.
• Good relationship with partners, and staff and accept different thinking.
