Main Purpose of the role

This position plans, co-ordinates and oversees the creative and content strategy supporting the Investing in Others (IiO) programme. The position creates content to showcase and elevate visibility of the innovative projects of the IiO programme and how they align against World Animal Protection’s regional strategy. The content aims to promote IiO to the funder, raise awareness across the network of grantees and internal colleagues across the organisation.

Accountabilities

  • The role is ultimately accountable for the communications and content strategy of the IiO programme.
  • The role holder will comply with the organisation’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with fundraising team and campaign managers, to plan and manage the communications calendar ensuring that campaigns, brand and fundraising communication objectives are coordinated and achieved.
  • Produce compelling narratives, content/creative assets and engagement that support campaign goals and objectives across digital/social and offline platforms including but not limited to:
    • Producing creative assets and compelling stories to highlight the success of the programme and how it demonstrates our farmed animal welfare strategy to our supporters and donors.
    • Producing compelling media pitches, which includes developing long form stories highlighting specific projects, to strategic local and international media relations to support brand awareness and to demonstrate the success of the IiO programme.
  • Provide support to World Animal Protection International communications teams in the creation of content for external and internal audiences.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Fundraising, lead on innovative strategies for donor engagement using IiO as a tangible example of our Food Systems strategy.
  • Ensure that the communications comply with World Animal Protection brand guidelines, strategic vision and meet the brand growth ambitions of the organisation.

  • To work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To ensure that the World Animal Protection brand is enhanced in a positive way and meets the organisation’s current and future vision.
  • Stay connected with the latest local, national and international efforts and public policies related to the organization.

Experience

  • Able to provide evidence of in-depth experience developing, executing and evaluating marketing and communications strategies.
  • Proven experience of working with digital design tools to develop creative assets.
  • Excellent writing skills and conceptual/creative development skills that can be executed across multiple platforms.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Leveraging social networking and other online and offline community-related tools and content.
  • An enthusiasm for experimenting with new/innovative communications technologies/strategies.
  • Significant hands-on experience in digital content strategy.
  • Brings regional (Southeast Asia) and international media relationships.

Desirable

  • Experience working in Non-Profit organization.
  • Proven track record in Digital Content Strategy and Implementation.
  • Journalist background.
  • Demonstrated positive attitudes towards cultural differences.
