JICA Thai Fish Project

(Utilization of Thailand Local Genetic Resources to Develop Novel Farmed Fish for Global Market)

Contract Period:

Mid May 2023 to Mid May 2025 (two years).

＊There is two month trial period.

＊Renewal of contract will be decided during the trial period.

Salary:

THB 20,700 – 33,925 per month (depending on the qualification and capability)

Job Description:

Main responsibilities are to support all tasks under the project assigned by JICA experts as follows:

• To assist in administrative and logistic matters of the project (e.g., procurement of goods, arrangement of business trips, communication with the project members)
• To support in meetings, seminars, and workshops (e.g., half-year meeting, annual meeting, joint coordination committee, public meeting, internal Thai side group meeting, and inspection)
• To assist in recording duties (e.g., take notes, video, and photos)
• To support the Public Relations and other documentation processes (e.g., SNS, brochure, research, survey, preparation of printing materials)
• To interpret Japanese experts with project stakeholders in necessary occasions especially during the meetings, business trips, and site visits (English/Thai and Thai/English)
• To search and translate relevant documents for the project (English/Thai and Thai/English)

Requirements:

• Proficiency level in English and mother tongue in Thai.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to efficiently work on transcription and typing documents.
• Basic business skills and manner.
• Good coordination and communication skill.
• Enthusiasm to learn international cooperation project in resource management sector.

Qualifications:

Bachelor or higher degree

Official English test score (minimum TOEIC 810, TOEFL PBT 580, iBT 90)

Brief information of the Project:

The Project for the "Utilization of Thailand Local Genetic Resources to Develop Novel Farmed Fish for Global Market" is a research project lead by the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT) and the Department of Fisheries, Thailand, with other notable research institutes in both Thailand and Japan. The project started from June 2019 funded by the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and the JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency) for the program called SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development) and will end in May 2025.
