POSITION DESCRIPTION

EMPLOYER: Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC)

POSITION TITLE: Regional Event and Communication Specialist – Short-term consultancy

PROJECT TITLE: Mekong Sustainability Manufacturing Alliance (MSMA)

REPORT TO: Deputy Chief of Party MSMA

LOCATION: Remote with possible travels to Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia

 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is a global non-profit organization that leads transformative, community-driven projects in the United States and Asia with a mission to help communities around the world address environmental, economic, and social challenges to build a better future shaped and shared by all. 

 

ISC seeks an Operations Coordinator to support implementing a USAID-funded multi-year multi-million-dollar sustainable manufacturing program in the lower Mekong Region. Aiming to strengthen the lower Mekong region as a competitive and environmentally sustainable manufacturing hub, the program features private-sector engagement to drive the adoption of improved environmental and social safeguards by factories in the food processing, electronics, and textiles sectors. The program will focus primarily on Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, with country-specific and region-wide activities.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support the Regional Communication Manager and MSMA team members in organizing meeting and forum events
  • Develop communication materials in alignment with USAID and relevant partners’ requirements
  • Prepare event reports
  • Other relevant duties, as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Four to five years of relevant work experience
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect a client service focus, attention to detail, and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including effectively synthesizing and summarizing information.
  • Proven experience organizing events- training, forums, workshops, etc.
  • Ability to work productively with diverse individuals from different backgrounds (government, private sector, advocacy, non-profit organizations, and community-based organizations.
  • Videography and photography skills are a plus.
  • Possess experience in USAID projects is preferable.
