Finance Officer SE Asia

Position: Finance Officer SE Asia

Based:  EJF office in Bangkok

Contract: Full-time, after a 3 month trial period

Payment range:  35,000 - 60,000 Baht per month (dependent on experience)

Benefits:

• Annual leave of 20 days plus all Thai national public holidays, increasing by 2 days each year of service

Position overview

Reporting to the Global Finance and Resources Manager (based in the UK) and working closely with Country managers in Asia, the role is a rare opportunity for a precise and conscientious accountant to join a dynamic and high-impact team working to protect our global environment and human rights.  Based in Bangkok, Thailand, you will have responsibility for financial processing and management and HR support for our Asian operations.

Key responsibilities:

Financial duties include:

  • Proper recording of all financial transactions and maintenance of accounting records on Xero
  • Monthly analysis, report of expenditures versus budget and cash flow projections in collaboration with the Country managers and in close relation with the Global Finance Manager.
  • Continual review of and adherence to internal financial controls and processes
  • Tracking expenditure for donor funded projects to ensure activities operate within budget.
  • Preparation of regular financial reports to funders.
  • Oversight of the payment of EJF team members including allocation of cost to appropriate projects
  • Assistance with periodic financial audits
  • Human resources
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and legal requirements of the countries we operate in

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Qualified accountant with good eye for detail
  • Computer literate, particularly with Excel and Word
  • Good verbal and written communication, particularly in English

Desirable skills:

  • Relevant experience in the Charity sector
  • Experience of donor funding reporting
  • Experience with Xero
  • Experience operating with multiple currencies
