About APCOM
APCOM is a not-for-profit regional organisation based in Bangkok, Thailand, representing and working with a network of individuals and community-based organisations across 38 countries in Asia and the Pacific.
APCOM works to improve the health and rights of gay men, other men who have sex with men and SOGIESC people across Asia and the Pacific.
APCOM has a primary focus on HIV because it is a key health issue for gay men and other men who have sex with men in the region. APCOM also address other related health issues for our communities such as sexual health, mental health and drug use.
APCOM also focuses on improving relevant human and legal rights across the region as discrimination, stigma, criminalization and exclusion impact on the health outcomes of the communities we serve.
Project Description
The innovationsmap.asia is an online knowledge repository about PrEP, HIVST, U=U and COVID-19 that will focus on Asia and the Pacific. This will help community-based organizations and service delivery providers to gain more knowledge to implement tailored approaches and client-centered services for HIV prevention tools and COVID-19 related services. The online resource hub will establish a common knowledge within the communities in Asia-Pacific about PrEP, HIVST, U=U.
To support the knowledge and understanding of communities about PrEP, HIVST and TasP as HIV Prevention Combination. APCOM will update its online resource hub and scale up its way of providing information to communities by changing to Innovationsmap[dot]asia. Bearing the name ‘innovations’, the online resource hub will also include information on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxes (PrEP), HIV self-testing (HIVST), and differentiated HIV service delivery or community-models of HIV services in response to COVID-19. The innovationsmap.org will serve as an online knowledge repository about PrEP, HIVST, U=U and COVID-19 that will focus on Asia and the Pacific.
This will help community-based organizations ascertain the levels of investments made into the HIV prevention tools and COVID-19 related services.
APCOM created innovationsmap.asia with the funding support from ViiV Healthcare.
Objectives of the Consultancy
To provide updated and correct knowledge materials in innovationsmap.asia on combination HIV prevention (which include Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, HIV Self-testing, and antiretroviral therapy);
To increase the availability of promotional and educational that contain easily understandable content about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, HIV self-testing and antiretroviral therapy;
To make available this promotional and education material in the website and allow community-based organizations from different countries in Asia-Pacific to access them;
To raise awareness about the different options to protect one’s self from HIV, different methods about knowing one’s HIV status, and latest updates about the life-saving antiretroviral therapy.
Scope of Work
Generally, this assignment will produce video or videos for APCOM social media platforms. The output videos shall contain movement and storytelling to create increase engagements with key populations reached via online activities. The promotional and educational materials shall contain correct and essential information about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), HIV Self-testing (HIVST), and antiretroviral therapy (ART).
Below is a list of scope of work expected from the consultant:
Conceptualize and develop an idea for a video targeting gay men, men who are having sex with men, transgender persons via online media platforms to educate about the different options to protect one’s self from HIV, different methods about knowing one’s HIV status, and latest updates about the life-saving antiretroviral therapy.
The output should also highlight the important information about sex education, safe sex, HIV prevention, and proper use of condoms and water-based lubricants. In addition, the video output should also include non-discriminatory messaging about chemsex to raise awareness about the issue.
Work closely with APCOM focal point and APCOM communications team to ensure quality check and technical format of the video.
In finalizing the concept, the consultant will work closely and collaborate with APCOM focal point and APCOM community clinic partners, if needed.
Editing Process includes
Opening and Ending screen – credit
Subtitle translated into Thai and English
Graphic and supertitle corresponding to the topics
Feedback and revise the videos after the finished products within 3 months (if any)
The Consultant is expected to work and manage within the agreed timeline and to finalize the
Video by incorporating the suggested revisions and corresponding feedback from APCOM’s Focal Person and Communications team.
The Consultant will provide full consent for other people to share and promote the video from his social media platforms and from APCOM website and social media platforms.
Deliverables
Deliverable 1 – Conceptualisation for storyline and finalization of script
Deliverable 2 – Video production (or shooting)
Deliverable 3 – post production such as video cutting, editing, dubbing, etc.
Deliverable 4 – final submission of Audio, Video format
- resolution 1920 x 1080 and 16:9 phone resolution
- raw file with .wav
Close coordination with APCOM in the production of the photos will be closely coordinated with APCOM. Concepts and contents should be presented to and approved by APCOM.
Required skills and expertise
Expert knowledge and experiences in graphic design and Animation production, including story writing, conceptualizing, motion design, and video editing.
Advanced knowledge in concept and creation of specific graphic design assets, especially infographic/fractography data visualization.
Provides advice on the best solution of animation videography approach to the campaign.
Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
International professional experience is an asset.
Understanding of Human Rights/ Health/LGBTI movements is a plus.
Ability to work and communicate by English regarding documents and online discussion.
