Project Coordinator- Climate Impacts of Food (CLIF)

 

Type of contract: Part-time (2 days per week)

Duration:  6 months (6th March - Aug 6th, 2023)

Employer: WWF (Thailand)

 

Project Background

"Climate Impacts of Food (CLIF)" project is a global project that aims to enable companies and consumers to inform themselves about the complex environmental impacts of food when consuming and purchasing, and thus to make more sustainable (purchasing) decisions, and to enhance more sustainable purchasing decisions to promote the demand for more resource-efficient products within the planetary boundaries. To this end, a target group-oriented tool is being developed, which is being implemented on a pilot basis in Germany, Paraguay, South Africa and Thailand and is to be applied globally in the long term. The project is implemented by WWF Germany together with TMG Research gGmbH and Corsus - corporate sustainability GmbH, whereas WWF Thailand is responsible for specific work packages or activities to be implemented in Thailand. 

 

Job descriptions 

Project Coordinator- Climate Impacts of Food (CLIF) responsible for implementing activities in Thailand, through coordinating with different stakeholders including donor partners (WWF Germany together with TMG Research gGmbH and Corsus - corporate sustainability GmbH), targeted companies (food production, trade, take-away), political decision markers or government partners, and facilitating discussions and networking among project stakeholders, developing and implementing activities, monitoring of commissioned research and services contracts to third parties, and production of reports as required. Below are key deliverables vs timeline to be accomplished,

 

Under this service contract 6 months (6th March - Aug 6th, 2023), is to keep monitoring and maintaining item (1), (2), (3), while to execute and deliver (4) and (5).

  1. Co-development of the criteria for the selection of agricultural commodities for the life-cycle-analysis with corsus GmbH

  1. Stakeholder engagement with politicians, companies, consumers, labelling initiatives (national + neighboring countries)

  1. Political study: Technical input to the study and organization of one workshop to discuss the applicability of the results of the study with Thai stakeholders (involvement in the conduction of the studies, contact stakeholders, invitations, venue, catering)

Q2 2022 – Q2 2023 (together with workshop A III.5.2.)

 

  1. Study on relevant information of impacts of food for consumers and companies: Technical input to the study and organization of one workshop to discuss the applicability of the results of the study with Thai stakeholders (involvement in the conduction of the studies, contact stakeholders, invitations, venue, catering)

Q2 2022 – Q2 2023 (together with workshop A III.4.2.)

 

  1. Road-Testing: Technical input to the visual preparation of the LCA-data and conduct one workshop to discuss the communicative/visual preparation of the LCA-case studies of commodities (road-testing). At least 4 companies, consumer representatives and politicians per target region should participate in the workshops. This will be the basis for the development of the prototype

  1. Application of the prototype
    1. Promotion of the communication tool among stakeholders (especially companies and consumers)
    2. Acquisition of the companies participating in the road-testing for a pilot application of the communication tool.

4. Experience Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum Education Level: Master’s degree in agricultural, social sciences, environmental development, forestry, economics or in relevant fields. 
  • Minimum Experiences:
    • 3 years in implementing environmental projects. 
    • 5 years in the field of sustainability, agri-food sector, sustainable agriculture, and others related field. 
  • Mandatory Minimum Language Proficiency Level: English
