Background:
Dreamlopments (DLP) is a non-profit development organization, registered in Thailand both as a Social Enterprise (2015) and a Foundation (2019). DLP is running two large projects of access to essential health care services for marginalized populations, i) the Migrant Fund (M-FUND), a low-cost, not-for-profit health access fund for migrants in Thailand, and ii) the C-FREE study of testing and treatment of HIV and viral hepatitis for people who use drugs in Thailand. The projects are supported by international donors, and implemented in collaboration with multiple government and non-government partners.
The projects and our organization require high-quality public engagement, mobilization, and communication materials and activities, for partners, donors, supporters, and target beneficiaries. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Communication, Public Engagement and Mobilization Officer (PEMO) to manage the organization communication and mobilization activities and campaigns.
Job overview:
The Communication, Public Engagement and Mobilization Officer (PEMO) leads the design, development, and implementation of materials, activities and campaign of public engagement, mobilization and communication, for both the organization, and its specific M-FUND and C-FREE projects. The PEMO reports directly to the President (P) but works in close collaboration with the senior staff of DLP and both M- FUND and C-FREE projects. The position requires significant travel (estimated up to 25%) to and presence in the fields of implementation of the projects, in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kanchanaburi, Tak, Sakaeo, Songkhla, and Narathiwat, Ubon and likely others in the future.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
• To follow closely, in the field and remotely, activities and progress of the M-FUND
and C-FREE projects.
• To capture/gather images and video footages of the project activities.
• To occasionally request quotes/testimonies from the target population or project
partners, on the experience with the projects.
• Ensure regular high-quality content feeding about the projects, in social media.
• To lead and manage the overall strategy of communication and engagement of the
organization for the target population, partners, donors and supporters.
• Lead development of communication tools (videos, brochures, leaflets, posters) to
optimize knowledge, understanding and uptake of the projects among the target
population, and partners.
• Lead the organization and conduct of large communication and mobilization
campaigns for the project population. This can include campaigns of communication
via broad audience media (radios, TVs).
• Participate in writing articles, organization position statements and policy briefs.
• Lead a long-term campaign of engagement of funding supporters of the M-FUND
project.
• Manage ongoing design and update of Dreamlopments’ website.
• Support development of high-quality organization and project reports.
• Prepare and disseminate organization of newsletters.
• Take on other assignments as requested by the President.
Qualifications required:
This position is for Thai nationals only.
Education:
• Degree in communication design, graphic design, multimedia, social marketing, journalism, or related fields.
Experience:
• At least 3–5-year work experience in relevant positions of communication,
design or public engagement.
• Track record of video production and successful communication campaigning, a
strong plus.
• Prior experience working in programs of health promotion communication a plus.
Skills and competencies:
• Broad skills in graphic design, communication, digital marketing, use of social media.
• Experience of social marketing, or fundraising, a plus.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Strong attention to details.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good command of English. Knowledge of Burmese or Cambodian language a strong
plus.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and manage demanding schedules to deliver high
quality results on time.
• Service minded, flexible approach to working hours.
• Interest in development and assistance projects, including for marginalized
populations.
Working Environment:
The position is based in the Bangkok DLP office, but requires substantial travel to and presence in project sites in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kanchanaburi, Tak, Sakaeo, Songkla, Narathiwat, Ubon, as well as possibly other fields in the future.
