Position Title               :  Project Clerk

Duty Station                :  Bangkok, Thailand

Classification              :  General Service (G-3, THB 49,198.25 per month)

Type of Appointment  :  Special Short-Term Contract

Initial 6 months with possibility of extension

Desired Start Date      :  As soon as possible

  1. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

 

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

 

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion, and Partnerships and Programme Coordinator and direct supervision of the National Project Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing administrative support under Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion (LMI) Unit of IOM Thailand country office

 

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Assist in administrative and finance functions to LMI team - such as purchase requisitions, request of advance cash, expense claims, travel request and request for payments.
  • Provide clerical support to LMI team in its project implementation - such as meeting and training events, field trips, among others.
  • Maintain LMI unit’s procurement plans, procurement and project budget monitoring and provide an overview on monthly basis.
  • Support LMI team to maintain files/records systematically which include but not limited to projects’ statistical data, correspondences, and note-for-file.
  • Perform such other administrative duties as may be assigned.

 

 

 

  1. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

EDUCATION

 

  • High School diploma with three years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finances, or related fields with one year of relevant experience.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g.  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook, Power BI Dashboards
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistical and administrative arrangements for meetings and training events.

 

SKILLS

 

  • Strong organizational skills and reliability in time management and schedule organization.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and respect of diversity.
  • Teamwork oriented but with a capacity to work independently.
  • Good English writing and communication skills.
  • Previous experience with IOM is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.

 

  1. LANGUAGES

 

  • Fluency in English and Thai are required.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighboring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighboring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
