No More Plastic in Nature Initiative of WWF has launched in 2018 with the goal to stop the plastic leakage into nature by 2030. As aligned with this strategy, the Plastic Smart Cities established to implement the regional project in the 5 countries: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Thailand. The key objective is to reduce plastic waste leaking into nature by 30% in 2021 through strategies: (1) Policy, (2) Corporate Engagement, (3) Education and Communication and (4) Citizen Science. The Plastic Smart Cities project of WWF-Thailand is currently implementing in 4 pilot cities and engagement with other stakeholders to develop and adapt scalable action-programs to stop plastic waste pollution and transit to a circular economy.
