Background of the project 

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provide assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.

IRC will provide a broad range of protection services to newly arrived refugees identified within the Royal Thai Government’s “safety zones”, “holding areas” and informal settings. Protection monitoring by the IRC and a network of local implementing partners and community-based organizations (CBOs) will be the primary means to identify key protection risks for populations.

 

Scope of work

Translate Livelihood program curricular and documents from English to Burmese under the supervision of Livelihood Officer

To complete the high quality of translation, the translator needs to consult and check for accuracy with Livelihood Officer.

The translator has to submit the complete translation documents upon the agreement with Livelihood Officer.

To translate the documents: total page is not less than 124 pages

 

Deliverables:

The consultant is responsible to translate Livelihood documents to Burmese with the supervision of Livelihood Officer by performing the following tasks.

Translate all the Livelihood documents which have to translate in Burmese.

Submit the translation pages as schedule for each document or curriculum.

Check the complete assignment with Livelihood Officer for the quality translation.

Complete all the translation within March 2023

 

Payment Rate and Schedule:

The amount of translation will base on number of original pages.

IRC may withhold for taxes 3% as required by law and shall provide withholding certificates to the translator

The payment will be carried out after the completion of the translation in March 2023

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree or high school

 

Work Experience: at least 2 years of translating in Burmese language.

 

Demonstrated skills:

- Able to manage tasks within a given period

- Flexible

- Competency

- Confidentiality 

 

Languages and computer skills:

English, and Burmese. Strong Computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.

Able to type Burmese
