Change.org empowers people to leverage technology and build social movements that create transformational change. More than half a billion people use the site globally to make positive change in their communities on anything from fighting bullying in schools and protecting wildlife habitat to equal access to education.

In Thailand, since the launch in July 2012, we have grown to more than 5.5 million users and have become the platform of choice for people to create the change they want to see in the country.

We have an exciting opening for an exceptional Digital Campaign Manager to join our Thailand team. We are interested in improving how we communicate our impact and the power of collective action, through the stories of our petition starters and their campaigns. You'll be a key part of creating rapid-response campaigns across dozens of issues – helping to grow, engage, and support our users to start and win their own campaigns.

Here's what you'll do as part of our team:

  • Curate, identify, and manage promising campaigns started by Change.org users, and help these campaigns win through strategic advice, storytelling, media outreach, social media tactics, content distribution across online platforms, event planning and execution.
  • Identify opportunities to grow and engage our users and monthly members. Utilize insights and data to support effective email targeting, manage content, and provide a great user experience.
  • Research and come up with creative, exciting, and impactful campaign ideas around critical social issues.
  • Help manage Change.org Thailand’s social media presence - building and engaging communities on Facebook, Twitter and other relevant platforms.
  • Connect and work with social good networks, companies, organizations, media and other potential partners to help them access the full potential of Change.org for social change.

And here are the skills and experience of an ideal Thai candidate:

  • A deep understanding of online and offline campaigning and a commitment to our goal of empowering people to win campaigns on the issues that matter to them. You believe people can create the change they want to see in the world.
  • High-level strategic thinker, with a strong grasp of politics, power and culture. You understand the political and corporate pressure points in Thailand and are on top of current social, cultural, economic and environmental issues. You can connect issues with culture that speaks to online audiences and can creatively reframe challenging topics to make them accessible and relevant to everyday Thai.
  • Ability to identify and seize opportunities quickly. Online campaigning is very moment-driven, so you’ll be comfortable working and adapting in an agile environment.
  • Experience with analytics, metrics, email, experimentation, targeting and data-driven campaigning highly desirable.
  • Exceptional writing skills in Thai, able to craft compelling and persuasive written communication for an online audience as well as Change.org users.
  • Competent in both written and spoken English, so you can effectively participate in the Change.org global team.
  • A strong understanding of media messaging. Experience in dealing with media on complex issues and the judgment to repeatedly find the right message to engage Change.org users.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude, capable of working on a range of issues with diverse groups of Change.org users
  • Strong rapport-building and relationship skills. You can effectively build and maintain partnerships and be a trusted ally amongst social change campaigners in Thailand.
  • Enjoy working in an online environment and collaborating using online tools.
  • Graphic design and/or VDO editing skills are a plus.
  • At least 5 years experience working in a cross-cultural setting -- preferably in the media, journalism, public relations, communications, development, advocacy or campaigning, but if you make up for lack of experience with passion and a willingness to learn quickly, you should still apply.

It’s important that you are driven and excited to join a collaborative work environment. Your co-workers are high-impact, low-ego, and have a true respect for our users and partners.

We love serving our users, and we love our staff too. We show it through competitive salaries, five weeks annual leave, robust parental leave, and a supportive culture where you’ll work alongside some of the world’s leading campaign and communications experts.

This position is based in Bangkok, and is often driven by a campaign cycle, so there are times that involve long hours and times that don’t. Our culture recognises both the needs of campaigns and the need for our staff to have a life.

We are an equal opportunity employer, which means we strongly encourage any interested parties to apply – we don’t discriminate on the basis of age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or physical disability.

If you are excited about the role and think you have the skill sets that match it, send us your application explaining why you are excited about this role and how you qualify – please apply to us directly here.

We will review applications on an ongoing basis, which means the position may be filled before the application closing date of 5 December 2022.
