COVID-19 RCCE Coordinator
Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province
Scope of work: Border-wide coordination of COVID-19 RCCE efforts
Duration: Until end of July 2022 (with potential for extension)
Salary range: 60,000 THB (+benefits)
Main Responsibilities/Duties
Chairing monthly RCCE working group meetings including agenda preparations, materials and minutes from the events.
Regular coordination meetings with RCCE responder leads/supervisors to ensure effective dissemination and advise on the implementation of community feedback mechanisms to ensure community concerns and misinformation are being addressed.
Represent the RCCE pillar and present RCCE updates at both provincial and national level COVID19 coordination meetings.
Track and compile documents for presentation such as household visits, hygiene material tracker, community feedback reports, etcetera.
Ensure stigma and rumor/misinformation reduction activities as well as gender considerations are integrated into community engagement and risk communication interventions.
Coordinate drafting of IEC materials (including weekly announcements, specific messages and other IEC materials), ensuring feedback from beneficiaries and other stakeholders, has been incorporated.
Ensure IEC materials are translated into Burmese, Karen and Karenni languages with support from internal or external translators.
Share draft documentation for inputs and approval from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for all IEC materials developed (including weekly announcements) before disseminating to the shelters.
Maintain filing of weekly announcements, IEC materials developed and minutes from meetings
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
University degree in communication, public health, social sciences, international relations or related field. Additional courses in communication techniques such as graphic design, visual language and in the use social media in behavior change campaigns considered an advantage.
Two to three years’ related experience in designing and implementing risk communication and community engagement activities for humanitarian emergency or health outbreak response.
Proven experience with risk communication and community engagement materials and message design, and capacity strengthening.
Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the ability to conceptualize ideas and advocate consensus.
Experience planning and facilitating workshops and meetings, with excellent presentation skills.
Ability to "think out of the box" and to make innovative proposals as related to risk communication.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Strong written communication skills
Computer literate especially in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Familiarity with graphic and visual design, social media and publishing software considered as advantages.
Fluent in English language
Knowledge of Karen, Karenni or Burmese, considered an advantage
Starting date: As soon as possible.
