Community Partners International (CPI) is a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities in Asia to meet their essential health, humanitarian and development needs. Founded by U.S. doctors in 1998, the organization has grown to serve more than one million people each year. Community Partners International focuses on helping communities affected by conflict, violence, and displacement, in remote and hard-to-reach contexts, and marginalized by poverty and exclusion.
CPI has offices in Bangkok and Mae Sot, Thailand. The position will be based in Bangkok with frequent travel to Mae Sot or other countries as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee CPI’s humanitarian and emergency response activities such as Health, Nutrition, Education, Food Security, Protection, Shelter, and WASH, etc. which are funded by institutional donors
Establish, strengthen, and sustain working good relationships/coordination with concerning fund management offices, institutional and private donors, local partners, local authorities, and other relevant organizations
Ensure the relevant information is shared/ communicated between CPI across departments, local authorities, and local partners for timely project execution and reporting
Develop costed work plans and monitor and ensure all planned project deliveries are executed and the results are delivered on time.
Ensure all project activities and expenditures are in line with the organization and donors’ policies, priorities, policies and standard procedures.
Regular Responsibilities
Financial Management
Monitor and oversee humanitarian projects are using budget according to workplan, CPI finance policy and guideline as well as donor requirement of each project
Ensure there is no fraud and misuse of donor funds
Actively participate in internal and external audit when required
Review and track monthly respective projects Budget Vs Actual together with Finance team and take necessary actions
Human Resource Management
Provide support to program team members and supervise, guide and oversight to direct supervisees
Lead the recruitment and on-boarding of program team members in collaboration with the HR team
Ensure the team members’ personal and professional development and arrange necessary training(s) for team members
Operations and Administration
Ensure all logistic and procurement procedures under humanitarian projects are followed according to CPI’s procurement policy and guideline
Work closely with the logistics and procurement team to effectively procure and deliver the supplies and equipment for CPI offices and project sites.
Promote inter-departmental coordination and information/data sharing
Ensure all organizational policies and procedures are in place and followed by different projects
Ensure all assets & inventories under humanitarian response projects are updated
Be overall responsible for project staff safety and security in accord with CPI’s policies during humanitarian and emergency response
Organize regular project team meetings and inter-departmental meetings as needed
Partner Support
Establish rapport with CPI’s local partners by promoting a close relationship with the program stakeholders
Participating in the assessment, survey and research conducted by CPI’s partners (if necessary)
Facilitating the report preparation and collecting, compiling, and analyzing the regular reports of CPI’s local partners
Provide necessary technical and program management supports to partners
Conduct routine supervision site visits and provide on job training for partner
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Masters level training in public health, public administration, international health, health policy, development studies, or equivalent work experience
Minimum seven years’ professional experience in public health program management especially in humanitarian response in an international organization
Fluent in written and spoken English and Burmese
Proven strong experiences in program management, stakeholder management and team management skills
Excellent coordination, collaboration and communication skills with diverse teams, multiple stakeholders, and local partners.
Proven working experience in a multicultural, low-resource setting
Ability to establish priorities in a time sensitive environment and meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency, detail, and quality
Comfortable working with a variety of partners and navigating complex relationships
Flexibility to allow for travel, variable working hours, and some modifications of tasks and responsibilities as team and project needs change
