Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province
Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts within the field
Duration: July 2023 with extension possibilities
Salary range: 50,000 THB (+benefits)
Main Responsibilities and Duties
Holding Area responsibilities
Supervise and monitor assigned health staff to ensure a streamlined and efficient organization of all health care provision in facilities managed by Malteser International.
Monitor performance and compliance among curative staff with applicable rules and regulations.
Provide necessary intervention and clinical consultations for severe, life threatening and complicated cases, including those for pregnant women.
Confirm and justify need for secondary and tertiary health care patient referrals to Thai hospitals, including follow-up of the referral process at Thai hospitals.
Support and strengthen staff knowledge and skills in the management of patients.
Take an active role in outbreak responses and infection control related to all health facilities.
Carry out regular refresher training and support training components for health staff with specific inputs as discussed with a medical team.
Assist logistic team and HIS/Pharmacy Supervisor on a technical level in the process to procure appropriate medical equipment, medicines, and medical consumables.
Partner/ IDP responsibilities
Online consultation with affiliated clinic staff working with Partner Organization
Assess training needs among Partner staff
Organize and conduct relevant trainings for selected Partner staff or affiliated staff directly at duty station or online
Assess and advise on medicines, medical material and equipment responses based on inputs from Partner request
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
Medical Doctor degree with proven registration in home country, registration in Thailand considered an advantage.
2-3 years of experience attending and treating patients in a clinic or hospital setting, preferably with clinical experience in rural settings/ health facility
Experience in supervisory position in a humanitarian setting
Previous experience in Thai-Myanmar refugee shelters considered an advantage.
Specialization in any of the fields of pediatrics, OB/Gyn, or infectious diseases, considered an advantage
Proven teaching, training, and supervising skills
Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English and Burmese, in addition good command of Karen language is considered an advantage.
Good interpersonal and communication skill, known as a good team player.
Willingness to travel to remote areas and work at flexible hours.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
