                                                           DEPUTY CHIEF OF PARTY – Bangkok

DAI (Thailand) Ltd, an international consulting firm, is recruiting a creative, highly qualified, and motivated local governance specialist as the Deputy Chief of Party on the USAID-funded Together program in Thailand. Based in Bangkok, the period of employment for this position ends in May 2023. The position is open to Thai Nationals only.

Initiated in August 2018, Together works with the Royal Thai Government to strengthen its capacity to creatively engage and communicate with citizens, increasing its ability to effectively address citizen concerns and strengthen gender equality and social inclusion. Together collaborates with CSOs to improve their capacity to communicate, network and advocate for public interests and work with government to develop innovative solutions to common challenges. Through its partnerships and activities, Together expands the space for dialogue, and facilitates the growth of attitudes, networks, and mechanisms that nurture tolerance, and promote transparent and responsive governance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership in implementing program implementation plans, with focus on activities with partner local Royal Thai Government agencies in focus provinces.
• Lead the writing, translation, review, editing, and production of high-quality Thai documents produced by the program and through its activities with partner organizations.
• Serve as primary liaison with Royal Thai Government counterparts and civil society partners on technical program issues.

Qualifications:

• Excellent public speaking and communication skills. Fluent Thai speaking skills, and excellent ability to write, translate, review, edit, and produce high-quality documents in Thai language. Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technical positions working to build the capacity of government agencies and CSOs and strengthen government-citizen engagement.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in senior management positions on donor-funded programs in Thailand and/or the region. 
• Knowledge of issues related to governance in Thailand; Do No Harm and gender principles and approaches; and ability to work effectively in politically sensitive environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with other staff and other organizations and with groups and individuals across the political spectrum. 
• Advanced university degree in related field, including political science, sociology, and public administration.
