Position: Program Officer  

Duty Station: Office is located in the Department of Civil Engineering, the Facutly of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University

Working hours： 8:30 to 16:30, in principle, from Mon to Fri.

Responsibilities:

Program officer is mainly assisting the Project Manager, one academic staff at Chulalongkorn university, to promote project activities and help the Project Coordinator, Japanese staff, for his work. Also expected to help Thai professors and Japanese professors involved into the project activities.
She/he will be primarily supervised by the Project Manager and the Project Coordinator.

The Program officer will:

• Prepare documents in English and Thai to be submitted to organizations/ persons concerned to the project.
• Translate documents between Thai and English as needed.
• Support logistic activity.
• Prepare documents/materials for public relations. 
• Prepare draft of minutes of meetings in English as needed.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Thai nationality
• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Computer literacy (Skill to use MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint effectively)
• Awareness to work in a team as a member of the project
• At least two years of working experience

REMARK: We will be unable to provide visa and work permit to a non-Thai national. There is no official employment status of Chulalongkorn University.

General Description of this SATREPS Project is

Develop technologies and human resources that can make roads and bridges last a long time

This project aims to develop technologies for properly assessing the effects of salt damage, scouring, and heavy loads on road structures, and technologies that provide strong protection for bridges against salt damage, scouring, and heavy loads. Additionally, we will establish an educational curriculum for cultivating highly capable road management engineers who have a solid command of said technologies, and we will invest a good deal of energy in developing human resources. Taking into account harmony between technology and people, this research will eventually result in an infrastructure maintenance method that is effective for the road structures of Thailand.

Help solve the worldwide problem of aging road infrastructure!

The technology developed through this project will extend the life of roads and bridges that make up the Asian Highway Network,which in turn will contribute to improving the safety and reliability of the ASEAN road network. Moreover, we are confident that the results of this research will contribute greatly to streamlining maintenance methods for decrepit infrastructure in Japan.

Project period: Apr 2022 - Mar 2027

Contract term: July, 2022 (or upon availability) for 1 year. Renewal of the contract is possbile on mutual consent. A probationary period of three months applies. The first day of work can be discussed.

Salary: Salary is negotiable. We should consider qualifications and working experience.
