Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Malaria Project Officer

 

 

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts within the field

Duration: Until December 2023

Salary range: 30,000 THB (+benefits)

 

 

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Collect malaria testing data and enter into excel format.

  2. Collect and process malaria raw document for entry into electronic form to internal filing database

  3. Process data to PIVOT table to match donor (GF) requirements.

  4. Cross-check data with camp – based staff records for malaria RDTs consumptions & LLINs distribution for monthly reporting.

  5. Monitor malaria treatment register at IPDs and medicine administration records. All documents for 14 days completed treatment to be process into electronic files filed properly.

  6. Regularly coordinate work with CHW/MPW to ensure patient complete 4 times follow up. Also ensure refreshment records for patient follow-up session are properly completed.

  7. Conduct Reactive Case detection (RACD)/PACD activities with MPWs, CHW, and WATSAN workers to support 1-3-7 strategies.

  8. Coordinate with Community Health Workers to get data and record of camp residents that receive IEC material

  9. Manage GF project stocks and prepare the record for monthly report of LLINs and RDT and Medicine (Quarterly) Supporting material distribution requested from camp. Monitor GF stock in camps.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. University degree in field like Public Health, medical science or other health sciences or equivalent combination com education and experience.

  2. Previously working in rural or remote areas, preferably with community health and related service.

  3. Experience with data and work on excel-based database application

  4. Previous experience with anti-malaria activities in rural area considered an advantage.

  5. Fluency in both Thai and Sgaw Karean is required

  6. Proficient with MS Office application, especially MS excel-bse database

  7. Able to work and stay in the field 2-3 nights weekly, depending on workloade
