We go the last mile: ACTED’s mission is to save lives and support people in meeting their needs in hard to reach areas. ACTED develops and implements programs that target the most vulnerable amongst populations that have suffered from conflict, natural disaster, or socio-economic hardship. ACTED’s approach looks beyond the immediate emergency towards opportunities for longer term livelihoods reconstruction and sustainable development. With a team of 4,800 national staff, 450 international staff, ACTED is active in 38 countries and implements more than 505 projects a year reaching over 20 million beneficiaries.
ACTED founded IMPACT Initiatives, which it supports with the provision of backstopping and support services, notably in its countries of intervention and in the development of common programming and joint ventures. ACTED’s CEO Marie-Pierre Caley chairs IMPACT Initiatives. IMPACT’s teams implement assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and organizational capacity-building programmes in direct partnership with aid actors or through its inter-agency initiatives, REACH and Agora. IMPACT’s global team, based in Geneva, is complemented by an established presence in over 19 countries in Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa, South-East and Central Asia.
REACH is a joint initiative of IMPACT Initiatives, ACTED, and the United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT). REACH was created to facilitate the development of information tools and products that enhance the humanitarian community’s decision-making and planning capacity. All REACH activities are conducted in support of and within the framework of inter-agency aid coordination mechanisms.
