UNICEF Thailand Country Office works to ensure the rights of all children in Thailand.  This means the rights of every child living in this country, irrespective of their nationality, gender, religion or ethnicity, to:

  • survival – to basic healthcare, peace and security;
  • development – to a good education, a loving home and adequate nutrition;
  • protection – from abuse, neglect, trafficking, child labour and other forms of exploitation; and
  • participation – to express opinions, be listened to and take part in making any decisions that affect them

 

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking a qualified individual to provide supportive analyses and evidence for UNICEF collaboration efforts with key public and private partners.

 

Background

UNICEF is the world's leading children's rights organization.  Over the last six decades, UNICEF has cultivated policy positions on a wide range of issues that affect children.  UNICEF works in partnership with national governments and community groups and cooperates with other United Nations organizations in determining children’s needs and developing programs to fulfill them. UNICEF works on the ground in more than 150 developing and transitional countries to help children survive and thrive.

 

Work Assignment:

An intern will be responsible for supporting projects as outlined in the areas above.  The intern will also perform ad hoc functions to support other parts of the team as required.

The intern will undertake the following main tasks:

  • Conduct a mapping of overseas development assistance available in Thailand and upcoming opportunities with development bank's (ADB, WB, etc.) financing projects relevant to UNICEF thematic areas
  • Mapping key government and potential civil society relevant to UNICEF mandate for advocacy purpose

 

Duration of Contract:  Three - Four months

 

Working Schedule: Full time

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate level from recognized academic institution

 

Conditions of Intern:

  1. Expenses: Stipend according to UNICEF’s guideline is applicable.
  2. Health/Medical insurance: UNICEF accepts no responsibility for costs or fatality arising from illness or accidents incurred during the internship whether on or off UNICEF premises.  The intern must carry adequate and regular medical insurance.  The intern will be required to provide with a proof of medical insurance prior to commence work.
  3. Confidentiality. The intern is required to respect the confidentiality of information that s/he collect or is exposed to at UNICEF. No reports or papers may be published based on information obtained from UNICEF without the explicit written authorization by the Head of Office or Division Director.
  4. Impartiality. The intern is required to respect the impartiality and independence required of UNICEF and will not seek or accept instructions regarding the services performed under the internship agreement from any Government or from any authority external to UNICEF.
  5. Employment Prospects. There is no expectance of employment at the end of the internship.

 

Provision of Supervising and Monitoring: The intern will work under the supervision of Partnerships Specialist, UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO).

 

Working Location: UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO), Bangkok (with possibly of remote working either entirely or partially depending on travel and other conditions at the time of onboarding)

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
