Introduction

The Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) is a field station of the faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, and is part of the Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit (MORU) supported by the Wellcome Trust, UK. The main objective of SMRU is to provide quality health care to the marginalised populations living on both sides of the Thai-Myanmar border in the Mae Sot area, Tak province. This is achieved by the dual activities of research and humanitarian services, with an emphasis on maternal-child health and infectious diseases.

SMRU is based in Mae Sot where the main laboratories are based and received samples from sites along the Thai-Myanmar border.

Probation:         SMRU can terminate employment at 3 months if performance inadequate

Report to:          Logistic Manager

            

Responsibilities

  1. Process procurement flow according to SMRU SOPs (obtain quotes and grant code, bid analysis or approval form, prepare PR/PO, ensure the accuracy of programs supplies deliveries)
  2. Update vendor information, supplies list, price, specification for internal use
  3. Assist logistic manager to prepare and update annual procurement plan with department then request approval from donor (Global fund, UNOPs, RTF)
  4. Assist Logistic Manager to prepare quarterly procurement report
  5. Being a focal person for general,  goods procurement and receive and update in template
  6. Working in team for goods receive.
  7. Other duties as requested by the unit.

 

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in a related field
  • Fluency in Thai and English (spoken and written).
  • Computing skills – ability to work with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Organisational skills – ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Able to work under pressure

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Able to communicate in Karen is an asset
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail
