The IOGT-NTO Movement (INM) Sweden is a Swedish temperance organisation aiming to contribute to a world free from the harmful consequences of alcohol. Together with our partners in Southeast Asia we view alcohol and other drugs as serious obstacles to both personal and societal development.
We support 24 local organisations in 14 countries: 3 in the Balkans, 14 in East Africa, 10 in Southeast Asia and one in Sri Lanka. The Organization currently receives funding for ongoing program implementation Worldwide. We have a regional office in Chiang Mai and Dar es Salaam. The Balkan partners and Sri Lanka are monitored from the Swedish office.
The objective of our international program is to reduce the obstacle alcohol causes to the development and health of individuals and societies. Alcohol use causes up to 3 million preventable deaths annually all over the world. Alcohol increases the burden on often weak health systems in developing countries. It is a driver of poverty and violence in the family, it causes accidents and poverty as well as weaken the effectiveness of development activities. Despite these effects, awareness of the harm alcohol causes is inadequate, and most countries lack effective alcohol policies that saves lives and enhance a sustainable development.

The main objective is to research potential funding sources (with interest in Southeast Asia particularly in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam) and develop fundraising proposals for the Southeast Asia Office (SEAO).
It is the intention of the SEAO to jointly apply for grants together with local partners in-country. Programs in all countries are already receiving funding and implementation is ongoing. The extra funding is required to expand scope of work (e.g., entry into new area of operations, increasing implementation speed, etc.) to increase overall impact.
The consultant will understand the strategic plan of the INM SEAO and how the local in-country partner organizations fit.
Further understanding of the how partners operate, and the interventions used is necessary.
