Rapid Asia is an independent social research consultancy based in Bangkok. We carry out program evaluations across a number of thematic areas including migration, human rights, wildlife conservation, health, climate change, education etc. Our clients include donors, UN agencies and international aid and development organizations. We take a regional approach to our work and have developed tools and indicators that can be used across borders. Rapid Asia has carried out projects in over 30 countries across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle-East and South/Central America.

Due to our continued growth and expanding workload, we are looking for experienced and reliable feature writers, to support our team. In particular we are seeking writers who can produce regular blogs based on work we have done. Writing and presentation needs to be of impeccable quality. The work will be on a contract basis and regular work can be expected and could also include editing work and assistance with dissemination in social media. The topics will vary depending on the work in which we are engaged. More than one candidate can be accepted as long as requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities:

• Feature writing in English

• Ability to work independently and with some level flexibility

• Editing (secondary)

Requirements:

• Proven writing experience

• Keen interest in social development work

• Strong work ethics and attention to detail

• Ability to deliver to strict deadlines

• Native English speaker is an advantage

• Experience with social media is an advantage.

• Based in Bangkok is considered an advantage but not essential.
