Overview: This scope of work (SoW) outlines the Graphic Designer consultancy with the Center for Operational Analysis and Research (COAR). The Graphic Designer will oversee and develop the process of building/maintaining COAR’s visual identity by defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and infographics. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for producing digital/online publications, shaping the visual aspects of websites (High Fidelity wireframes, prototypes), and more.

About COAR: COAR is an independent social enterprise that directly supports practitioners, policymakers, and donors by facilitating humanitarian and development interventions in complex, fragile, and high-risk environments. COAR delivers neutral and objective research and analysis, which identifies - but does not influence - local stakeholders, relationships, interests, and analyzes broader political, economic, social, and security dynamics and trends. COAR research leverages social media, personal networks, field research teams, and local experts in order to map and translate the local human context; COAR analysis synthesizes and studies this data in order to inform both programmatic and strategic decision-making, reduce security and conflict sensitivity risks, and increase the impact of humanitarian, development, stabilization, peace-building, and peacekeeping initiatives.

The Role Objective and Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer Consultancy aims at:
● Designing and producing collateral in accordance with brand guidelines;
● Presenting ideas, concepts and design solutions to the team and incorporating their feedback into the final design;
● Carrying out necessary visualization and graphics creation, including illustrations, infographic, tables, charts and presentation and page layouts.
● Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos and websites;
● Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief;
● Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required;
● Test graphics across various media;
● Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand;

Qualifications and Experience
● Proven 3- 5 years of graphic designing experience;
● Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
● Online portfolio of previous publication work, illustrations or other graphics;
● Proficiency with design software and technologies, preferably in Adobe Creative Suite, including mastery of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
● A keen eye for aesthetics and details;
● Exceptional creativity and innovative design approach ;
● Ability to design independently, and also take directions;
● Has strong knowledge of typography, fonts, document formatting, desktop publishing, page layout and design, digital production;
● Strong written and oral communication skills in English
● Detail oriented, ability to multitask with strong prioritization, planning and organization skills
