Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Surveillance Officer – COVID 19

 

Surveillance Officer – COVID 19

 

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob Moei districts with visits to Mae Ra Ma Luang & Mae La Oon temporary shelters (Sob-Moei)

Duration: 10 months with potential for extension

Salary range: 25,000-30,000 THB (+benefits)

 

The following is an abridged version of the full job description

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Ensure entry screening and travel quarantine of returnees are done as per the guidelines developed for temporary shelters.

  2. Ensure specimens for PCR tests are collected from ARI clinics, travel quarantine and from high and low risk contact persons in coordination with Lab Supervisor.

  3. Plan and conduct active case finding campaigns with the support of other supervisors and shelter-based volunteers.

  4. Ensure investigation and high-risk contact tracing of confirmed COVID 19 patients are done immediately and according to guidelines with the support of shelter based CICT teams.

  5. Ensure High and low risk contacts persons are quarantined and tested for COVID 19 as per the procedures developed for temporary shelters.

  6. Train shelter-based surveillance staffs and community networks members on their tasks.

  7. Collect and report COVID 19 surveillance related date to supervisor on a regular basis.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. University degree in Public Health or similar with additional studies and public health related diploma/certificates.

  2. 3-5 years of experience of work in the public health sector.

  3. Knowledge and experience of implementing COVID 19 prevention and control activities considered an advantage.

  4. Strong analytical thinking, prioritization of tasks and problem-solving skills

  5. Meticulous and detail oriented

  6. Fluent (spoken, written) in Sgaw Karen and Thai.

  7. Intermediate/Good level of written and spoken English an asset
