Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Database Assistant

Database Assistant

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Sariang, with visits to Mae Ra Ma Luang & Mae La Oon temporary shelters

Duration: 9 months with potential for extension

Salary range: 20,000-22,000 THB (+benefits)

Main Responsibilities/Duties

1. Ensure assigned database is updated timely and that data confidentiality is guaranteed.

2. Modify and expand database in accordance with instructions from Supervisor.

3. Train and Update data collection tools and train camp-based staff on how to collect and document data correctly.

4. Ensure quality control for database by checking accuracy and correctness of data entry done by camp-based staff or other MI staff contributing and adding data to assigned database(s).

5. Follow-up and correct inconsistencies and missing data discovered in data submitted.

6. Operate and maintain database regularly with data back-up and organizing data storage

7. Extract data or generate reports based on reporting needs.

8. Create user-friendly manuals with step-by-step guidance for camp-based staff responsible for data recording and collection.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. University degree in the IT field with relevant courses on database management and applications.

2. Proven competence and technical expertise in using database applications and SQL or equivalent.

3. Strong in analytical thinking, prioritization of tasks and problem-solving skills

4. Meticulous and detail oriented

5. Fluent (spoken, written) in both Thai and Sgaw Karen.

6. Intermediate/Good level of written and spoken English an asset
