ADRA Thailand is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant based in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Job overview: The Accountant is responsible for working closely with the CSO DPAMR project Accounting Associate to ensure to receive monthly receipts from project on time, review and record all of the entries to accounting software, and generate monthly Financial Report for the Project.
Review monthly receipts from the field office and record all of the income and expense into the accounting software with the correct chart of account;
Conduct monthly bank and account receivable reconciliations;
Review all receipts and ensure that all expenses and details on receipts are in line with ADRA Thailand Finance and Procurement policies;
Ensure that all support documents and receipts are attached to payment vouchers;
Monitor and analyze monthly actual spending against the approved budget;
Review monthly budget request from the field office to ensure it is align with the approved budget;
Maintain close communication with the Accounting Associate in the field office to ensure timely fund transfer;
Make periodic monitoring visits to the field office to support the Accounting Associate and CSO partners when necessary;
Keep track of funds transferred to each CSO partner and maintain up to date account information for each partner;
Assist in preparing budgets for potential projects in consultation with the Associate Director/Finance Director;
Responsible for keeping an updated and accurate asset register for the project;
Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor.
Preferred candidates are expected to meet the following:
Minimum Skills & Education Required:
Bachelor degree in accounting or related field
At least 3-year experience in Accounting or positions equal to the position responsibilities outlined above
Fluent in spoken and written Thai and English
Working knowledge of Burmese and/or Karen is an advantage.
Skills and Abilities:
Good typing skills in both English and Thai
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision
Proficient in PC use, Windows applications, email and internet. Ability to accurately review and analyze financial and statistical reports in excel format essential
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (especially Excel), ADRA accounting package (Sun-Plus) is preferred and ability to work with electronic mail packages such as Outlook
Strong cross-cultural communication skills
Valid driving license is required
