PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Purpose of this position is to lead and manage the technical & sector department to ensure technical quality of programs & projects and create a culture of evidence-based and quality assurance practices which, will contribute to technical excellence , evidence of impact, and sustainability of funding. This includes building support. As a Department Manager , the person will coordinate and collaborate effectively with program implementation, marketing , resource acquisition ,strategy , and communication teams in an integrated and coordinated manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Technical Program/Project Development (all funding streams)
- Update & implement business process for design development process
- Ensures all designs are developed meeting technical/sector quality standards
- Ensure all required design documents/products are agreed with relevant departments and teams and endorsed for SLT for approval.
- Engaging key partners and stakeholders during design process
- QA of designs in coordination with MEAL and relevant teams
2. Technical/Sector Quality in Implementation
- Ensure completeness, quality, and user-friendly of implementing guidelines for field use
- Ensure timely and quality of technical support to field implementation team
- Provide technical guidance to technical/sector advisors to consistently track implementation quality across area programs
- Provide technical guidance to technical/sector advisors on monitoring and reporting at NO level
- Share progress and lessons learned with relevant departments & teams
3. Capacity Building Support and Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate with P&C for technical competency assessment and designing of learning & development plans
- Support technical/sector advisors in building strategic partnerships that contributes to advocacy and sustainability
- Capacity building support including coaching and mentoring to team members
- Coordinates with RO and TSO for technical/sector guidance and capacity building support
4. Team and individual Performance and Development
